  • So how does one get an employee email that seems to be necessary for this deal if you dont work for Samsung?

    • Many companies have employee benefit programs that gives you access to EPP.

    • without the employee email, means you can do nothing about this deal.

      • -2

Not true. I just used my random work email and it worked.

        • More than likely it wasn’t “random”

I tried with 2 seperate work mails and both say not valid…

Sounds like your domain is listed, which means your company has a deal with Samsung.

          • @Larsson: Interesting. It wouldn't surprise me in all honesty.

It has only asked me to use the work email once, so I'm guessing it has permanently linked to my basic gmail login.

  • Logged into government portal and this deal is not there.

    • Check again, was there for me.

  • How much is 55"? Can anyone check and tell me pls before I ask my neighbour to order for me as he's got the access?

      • Thanks mate, appreciate it

      • I wish i could buy it :(

  • where does this TV rank in comparison to Samsung s90d oled?

    • Not sure but s90d 83" is $3999.50

    • +1

      https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/samsung-s90d-oled-vs…

The Samsung S90D OLED (QD-OLED version) is better than the Samsung S85F OLED (QD-OLED version). Although the TVs are similar overall, the S90D is much brighter in HDR, so highlights pop out more to the viewer, and it delivers a more complete HDR experience. The S90D also supports 144Hz, which is great for PC gamers.

        Thanks!

Just for everyone’s knowledge, this is INCORRECT.

        Only North Americans get QD-OLED.

This TV is WOLED here and sounds like pretty much the worse OLED you can get. Therefore It’s no where near as good as the one rtings reviewed. Albeit still OLED.

        • +1

Correct, the S85F is not QD-OLED in Australia thus making the S90D an even better option.

@Maths Debater: I’d suggest asking mods to remove your comment to avoid misdirecting people from buying the wrong TV and regretting it please.

  • Trade in discount for me is $150

    • +1

      Must be for 77inch

      • Yep your right

  • Oled wasted in a well lit room?

    • +1

This model has low luminosity so it's not the best for daylight use. Other oleds have much better luminosity

  • Would love to know how long this deal will stick around.

  • +10

Bought this recently and I'm not a fan. There's a lot of colour banding. The Australian model is not QD-OLED, it's actually WOLED. And the remote is so light and flimsy now, they've cheaped out in every way possible.

    • Oh also there's so many ADS, getting a NVIDIA Shield just to change my hub because I hate it

      • -4

No self respecting tv view should be using the TV OS other than to get to their shield/firecube/google tv.

        • +1

Disagree with this. Sony Android/Google TV experiences are fantastic and seamless, without needing a third party add-on.

        • That would only be so after a couple of years once the Os and apps are no longer as they should be.

As for the shield, it is a) getting very long in the tooth, and b) if we are talking streaming only (which we kinda are in TV OS discussions) then 4K google Tv or firestick, and c) costs a lot.

The Shield and Apple TV are for if you want something interactive and more than streaming. Eg fitness, games etc.
Oh, and if OS is the biggest reason, then Apple TV.

  • $2500 for a 77 inch OLED must be an all time low.

  • Has anyone recycled the old TV without recycling the old TV?

    • +1

I think what youre asking is whether you have to get rid of the old tv?

I think yes you do, but the actual tv doesnt matter so you can get any old broken TV off gumtree/marketplace and trade that instead of your better one you want to sell.

      • That's what I thought. Thanks!

  • Pricing i can see remains at 35%, is anyone else still getting the 45%?

  • I've got a 65inch Hisense U9G mini LED from 2021. Gets insanely bright, but with some blooming. Would this be a significant upgrade (other than the perfect OLED blacks)?

  • +1

Note: This model is NOT QD-OLED in Australia so take my RTINGS link above as a guide only.

What is the difference then you ask? Mainly the colour volume.

    • "QD-OLED and WOLED are two different technologies used in OLED displays, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. QD-OLED, using quantum dots, generally offers better color volume, color brightness, and peak brightness, especially in HDR content. WOLED, on the other hand, excels in handling ambient light and can offer deeper blacks in brighter environments"

Tempted, but after my recent dramas with buying a Samsung tv directly through Samsung I'm not sure if I want to risk it again.
In short - bought 75" new qled tv last month during EOF sale, traded in my old tv, new tv arrived with a major fault, reported immediately.
This model is out of stock and can't be replaced.
Refund is the only option, as apparently "we can only replace exactly the same model" according to Samsung policy.
Trade in tv is lost, as it's Samsung policy not to return trade ins.
Waiting 3 weeks now for a courier pickup and a refund, called them 3 times already.
Wonderful Samsung customer care… just saying it's not always a pleasant experience.

  • No login here - but just curious what they list the s95F 77” at? Can anyone see?

    • +1

$5999. There's also an additional $175 off to recycle old tv.

      • Thanks!

  • Samsung tho
