It may not be the best movie ever, but so much of the movie was either amusing or memorable. Characters both sympathisable or hateable, comedic lines, and a passable story with some understanding behind it. Neil and Jane's interactions were always good.
Some of it is definitely cheesy (which I love - see "The Librarian") or eh, but "sucked ass" isn't a fair judgement.
