Dove Beauty Bar (It Is Not to Be Called a Soap) 6x100g for $5 at The Reject Shop

190

Dove soaps 6X100g for $5 at Reject Shop. It is made in Germany. I saw the Chadstone VIC store had plenty in stock.

Although no limit per person but please share (I know I am opening it up to lots of jokes).

This deal could be combined with http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/91443
and http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/91477, as all the three listings are on the same catelogue.

BTW Chadstone store has no stock of Finish Dishwasher tablets. It got Ozbargained.

The Dove people would flinch if they heard you call it "soap".
    So would my wife.
Its only resemblance to soap is the shape and the size and style of packaging.
They call this stuff a "beauty bar" even though one takes it to the bathroom and uses it much the same way as soap.
It has a way different pH level to soaps and contains all sorts of moisturisers and "cosmetic" agents.

Wash your mouth out, spal ! <GRIN>

    • LOL. Too funny.

its 1/4 moisturiser according to the commercials, so perhaps its 3/4 soap ;)

      • Water soluble moisturiser?

I stand corrected. Could I wait until a good deal on a mouthwash.

I enjoy reading some of the witty comments on the post rather than the actual deal postings itself. OB is a cheap way for me to get humour in life.

I noticed that some stuff from rejectshop is not great compared to buying the same items from woolies, for example Lipton tea, Dove, many shampoos. The last time i bought Dove soap from Reject shop, it was like i was rubbing cream on my hands - no foam AT ALL.

As a rule i do not buy food and haircare products from Reject shop.

    Anyone else has similar experience?

My experience has been different in regards to Dove soap, always the same quality.
I always check, but the soap from Coles/Woolies/Priceline etc. is made in Germany, and so is the Reject Shop soap.

    • Too right!

    • I haven't really noticed. I usually buy the regular bars from Aldi or Costco. From Woolies I have only ever bought the fragrant varieties so I am in no position to comment.

  • Same experience with me we bought morning fresh dish-washing liquid and when used no foam at all ..same branded product we buy from coles or woolies has significant different.. I vote not to buy items from reject shop ..if buy please buy in the minimum quantity to try first..dont assume that you will get the same result of the branded item bought from RejectShop as compare to other stores(woolies/coles)..

    • This might have to do with the sponge you're using. Some sponges 'reacts' with the liquid so it doesnt foam up.
(The dishwashing liquid we had was not morning fresh though). Might worth a try than binning the whole bottle

  • Yeah, not surprising if they are parallel imports from countries with lower quality bars.

  • Pretty much all reject shop items are Asian imports/ripoffs. Even half the text at the back is in chinese or somthing, especially toothpaste. Wouldn't use it unless you really wanted to save that $2…..

    • Just because its Asian it has to be chinese…

      • well china has over 30% of whole asian countries population and another 25% is indian…
cant mix the 2 writings up…

    • Are you sure its genuine 'Dove' and not 'Dova' soap.

Great price, i usually buy these for $1 each at Crazy Clarks so 6 for $5 I'm basically getting one free.

I use this soap "beauty bar" on my skin every day, I haven't found a single difference between the Woolies stock and dollar store stock. I've compared packaging and it's all exactly the same, just a hell of a lot cheaper.

    • Thanks. It is the lowest price ever I have bought these for. I usually buy when Aldi has them or get it from Costco.
