How does it work? Should I just use same email address or do I have to use different email?
I was their customer, more than a year agoJust use a new email. Add a + to your Gmail works.
In Gmail, the plus symbol (+) and anything following it before the @ symbol are ignored when receiving emails. This allows users to create variations of their email address for different purposes and manage their inbox more effectively. For example, if your email is [email protected], you can use [email protected] or [email protected] and still receive emails at your main address.
Works the same for Outlook/Hotmail

How long does it usually take for Cashback to be tracked? It's been an hour and I haven't received anything from cashrewards yet. Usually I get it within minutes.

i had no problem using the same cashrewards account… only created new nordvpn account.
You need to opt out of Auto Renewal. I used a CR deal like this 2yrs ago then got a nasty surprise last week to the tune of $247!
Had to arrange a refund, which thankfully they did. I think they got in trouble a few years back for similar sales tactics.

When I searched for info on Nord refunds I got links like below and many older Reddit posts saying they made it really hard to get refunds or refused.
I guess it wasn't very CLEAR 2 yrs ago when I signed up, as it was still set to auto renew and auto renew it did.

As a true ozbargainer I never keep a credit card open for 2 years. But this was a timely reminder regardless as mine renews late august.

tldr: Yes.
Because they earn their money back from charging people for full price renewals when they forget to cancel subscriptions. They also renew subscriptions early to catch out people who cancel at the last minute. They are not stupid, nothing is for free, and they know they will make back 10 times as much from folk who always post in these cashback offers and get sucked in by these offers.
This. I used to check my plans each year. But eventually you just get sick of jumping and changing all your settings and stuff…

As mentioned by the OP, this excludes NordPass and NordLocker, so you will get cashback only with the basic tier not the plus or complete.
A few years ago, you could set your tax country to the US to avoid the sales tax. Is that still a thing and still works with Cashrewards?

you need to use browser that dont have ad blocker (for example ghostery)
then login into cash rewards, search nordvpn then click on the link to go to the nordvpn site then buy the 2 years basic plan.
after that it should show in your transaction history in the cashrewards site (but the actual cash rewards will take a while to get approved)
So only Nord basic (just the vpn) is eligible for cashback? Because under the deals and offers (on Cashrewards: NordVPN) it has "Get 70% off + an Amazon AU gift card". This offer is only available on Nord plus (VPN+Pass) or Nord complete (VPN+Pass+Locker)

When I tried to purchase via the Cashrewards app, I'm stuck at Step 3 or 4 "Download apps" after I made a payment. I can only click "Download for Android" but only a pop up message "Only purchases via Cashrewards in-app browser and eligible for cashback. Do not open NordVPN's app." I can't go to step 4. Does the same happen to anyone else and how to solve it?

Last time, Nord VPN didn't pay my cashback! Cashrewards advised it is Nord VPN who is not paying my cashback. They said the transaction went through another way! BS!Not recommended.
I'm worried about this too - they take longer than the free refund period to do it too so you can't get a refund either. I bought 2 years ~ month ago and still haven't gotten anything.

$134.38 was the charge on my Bankwest Zero Mastercard.
So the GST buggers it up - might try again and set my country to USA.
I guess the difference is the GST and the 3%

I did the similar deal with topcashback a month ago, tracked ok, but after a few weeks, they declined the cashback, i don't know why, lucky it was still within 30 days and i was able to get the refund.
Hey guys i signed up through cash rewards app and paid with paypal how long till i find out if it tracked ? I sort of got stuck on step 3 when i tried to click download android and it kept telling me something not on noord app so i was stuck on step 3 of activating will it still track ? Just wanted to let people mine tracked.
I also purchased the nordplus plan (VPN + Pass) 2 years.
I paid $172.98 including GST, and it tracked at $133.27 in 57 minutes.
You also get a $20 amazon gift card if you get the nord plus plan.
Calculating it = 133.27 / 158.16 = only tracked at 84% instead of 97%. It looks like the $20 amazon card comes out of cashback amount.
Will wait to see if it continues to track or change cashback amount within 30 days

I'm actually not sure. But they do offer 30 days to trial it and get a refund. So I'll be watching to see if it changes or is rejected in that time
