You might have added the extra 1 at the end by mistake

    • is it still valid? Just receved my new card

Not as good as the free offer for CitiBank Cardholders a few months back

  • +10

Likewise have it free but can’t see any benefits in it.

    • Same, i have it free. Havent used once

    • +2

Yep, I compared it when booking accommodation recently and got better pricing with Agoda.

Got this free earlier in the year.

I used LE for a trip this year and it was a horrible experience. The tour/experience cost ended up being higher than booking directly with the tour operator. Also the tour operator had issues redeeming the voucher from LE. It was a game of ping pong sorting out the issues between LE and the tour operator which is stressful when you are on holidays. The tour operator said I would have to pay $1500 to them again for the tour as the LE voucher didn’t work, all this the day before the tour. Luxury escape didn’t offer much help saying it was the operator’s issue. They never contacted me to tell me if the issue was resolved before the tour. Fortunately on the day of the tour I rocked up and the booking was accepted. The LuxPlus membership felt like it was worthless, the service is terrible and I’ll never use LE to book tours again. Paying $99 is not a bargain IMO, even being a free upgrade isn’t an instant bargain as there can be headaches dealing with LE.

Sounds like a horrific experience, thanks for your detailed review. Was going to use them for my EU trip end this year, but not going to now.

I've used them for hotel offers a few times and it's been fine. The limited time offers are usually decent value especially when combined with discounted gift cards. Never had a booking not recognised by the hotel, but I did have to remind a hotel of the offer inclusions once.

LuxPlus is purely money grabbing though. Raise base prices and lock lower prices behind a paid annual membership.

Agreed. Just use them for the limited time offers for 4-5 star hotels (provided they are cheaper than booking directly) and stack with either the 10% off or the 4th night free code. I've been able to stay at interesting places without being locked into a hotel loyalty program, for a literal fraction of the price of direct rates on other platforms.

Most recently, a brand new aparthotel in Fortitude Valley in peak school holidays, for only $100 a night.

    • LuxuryEscapes are the worst. They refused me a refund of >$8000 during covid, despite the resort confirming to me they’d refunded LE. Best they could do was a voucher with an expiry on it.

      I claimed through travel insurance.

Citi absolutely killed the book 3 nights get 4th night free deal by limiting it to luxury escapes.

    • It's nab after they bought Citibank Australia

  • +1

I got a good deal with Lux+ at a resort when combined with Citi book 3 night get 4th night free. Equivalent of basically getting the same price as the cheapest available website but with a bunch of decent inclusions chucked in (nightly cocktail, free upgrade, $150 spa voucher, $75 meal voucher).

I left Citibank, deals getting shitter and shitter

Technically Citibank left you first. Now you're just dealing with NAB…

  • I really want to leave Citi they're so shit

  • Got it for free a while back, made a couple of bookings, the saving don’t justify the price though.

Riddle me how to get $99 of value out of this …
