my PC is on a few strong boxes. had a issue with weird whirring noises before and had to unplug and move the heavy computer out so I can see it.

I wondered if there was something like this, and it's only $15! would make moving the heavy PC out much easier next time. just have to unplug and wheel out.

other very similar looking options are around $25+.

I put my PC on skates to speed up performance… now it crashes even faster!

  • +16

Did a boomer write that. who calls the PC tower a CPU lol

      • +2

I got this one, it's not bad, fits a fractal torrent ok. I didn't want my pc sitting on the floor and because it doesn't have handles I needed an easy way to move it when vacuuming.

      • I meant the title on Amazon brother

        • -3

ok I just assumed you clicked the link but the original amazon title says "Computer tower stand" at the beginning. I edited that to "CPU stand" in the deal because I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it's called, and if anyone wants to search for alternatives they need to use that term.

I'm guessing because if you search "Computer tower stand" you will mostly get Computer case results, not CPU stand results.

      • +1

Almost no one calls a CPU a SoC if it's not an SoC.

    • We call it "The Box" …

    • +8

Isn't it called a hard drive?

      • That's a Winchester

    • I do. Many people i know do. Based on the context you know if its the CPU or the entire cabinet they are speaking about.

  • +6

How many CPUS does it hold? I have a few am4s

    • +2

      AM4 is actually a socket 😛

      • Good, so I can plug in my AU plug into the AM4?

      • +1

Ugh, now I need socket holders

    • -4

only one. but size is adjustable.

  • -1

    cheaper on ali

  • +2

i've always just used a small dolly from aldi

    • They're ok but you'll want to have a hole in the middle for better cooling.

      • -5

Just like us… CPU fart too… LOL

    • is the size adjustable?

  • Strokeposter title
Sadly this won’t fit my corsair 900D

  • What's the oil change intervals for this?

A little trolley for a tower pc? I'll add it to my list:

    1) Voss water
    2) multi-coloured crocs
    3) this tower stand.

    I've seen it all now.

    • +2

What I find confusing about this list, which I assume is a list of totally unnecessary and/or ridiculous products is that you felt the need to clarify “multi-coloured” when listing crocs. Is it because you’re onboard with mono coloured crocs but if multicoloured then that people taking footwear too far?

  • I thought roller coasters were only for drinks 🍻

I have this one, it bends. Replaced with the IKEA one which is much better.

      +1
I bought two variants of the above. It's just crap. You can only add a small light weight PC on top because it's weak and bends easily. The IKEA one is excellent. Much, much better and will support a full tower. IKEA one is all metal (except castors), whereas every single one I found on aliexpress/temu is all plastic with hollow metal rods.

      • whereas every single one I found on aliexpress/temu is all plastic with hollow metal rods.

what about the amazon one in deal? is it metal because looks like it.

        • +1

Yea it's hollow metal but it bends under the weight of the PC. The bigger the tower the more it bends because you have to pull the metal away from the plastic bits to cover the size. Bends near the connection points…

          • @R3XNebular: thanks. yeah makes sense because it's adjustable it's like two hollow poles for extension. makes it weaker.

      • link?

      link?

  • Looks like a repurposed fridge/furniture roller. Looks the same.

I was just talking about the cheese grater Mac and it's $1000 wheels earlier today, what a coincidence.
This is a little bit cheaper than that lol.

    • link please.

      • +2

Here you go. My first thought looking at this.
        https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MX572FE/A/apple-mac-pr…

The Mac Pro, a project only made by Apple under loyalists’ pressure, that it thus crippled and priced out of any usefulness. It wants the Mac Studio as its high end future.

        • OH yeah now I get you. I thought you were actually talking about a kitchen appliance (cheese grater) and how they were trying to sell some expensive wheels for it. 😂

  • +4

    I use this dolly https://www.bunnings.com.au/syneco-580-x-290-x-100mm-movers-…

No brakes though, but works like a charm on carpet and 200KG rated, so can be used for other purposes later on if not needed for PC.

    • Blocks any vents under the chassis

      • +2

Not really as cases already have feet and are designed to be kept on hard surfaces like desk top. If you keep the case directly on soft carpet, then yes.

    • +3

I use this too for my Define R5 and have no issues with it. This thread caught my eye and I was keen to pull the trigger merely to get adjustable wheels that can be suited perfectly for the case dimensions but really having the dolly base surrounding my case is basically like bumber bars for added protection on the floor and against two labradors who can go nuts sometimes lol.

The claim about no ventilation under the case is a bit odd when comparing to people with their towers on a desk. Don't think there's ventilation holes on a desk lol.

  • $24 now :(

I use this one. A lot more expensive but rated up to 50KG and highly adjustable for big towers.

    • damn, even too small for my DA2. I'll make my own, I think.

    • thanks but I'm only seeing $187 from 3rd party seller.

what was the regular Ships from amazon price?

      • may have only been supplied by a 3rd party

  • PROTECTION STABLY

  • wow do you guys have the latest PC's or something?
do they weigh over 100kg now? like if you have two or three 7090 graphics in it?

I noticed when buying a fan for my power supply, the size is 60mm. which is unusual. it's a 12 year old off the shelf PC.

now I'm seeing power supply normal size is 120mm. so I guess PC's are way bigger and heavier than I thought now.
