i'd rate these personally as follows:
The Final Shape Standard Edition 4/10
    Lightfall Standard Edition 4/10
The Witch Queen Standard Edition 8/10
    Beyond Light Pack 7/10
    Shadowkeep Pack 4/10
    Forsaken Pack N/A
    30th Anniversary Pack 7/10
    Pit of Heresy Dungeon 3/10
    Shattered Throne Dungeon 4/10
    Grasp of Avarice Dungeon 7/10

out of all of them, hard mode witch queen was actually a good shooter, kinda of like a campy B+ nightmare mode doom game

Am glad I played Beyond Light and Witch Queen era.

Does anyone here still play this?

I read that the player count has plummeted with the latest DLC, however also that this was somewhat unsurprising given the previous DLC wrapped up the story arc.

I really enjoyed Destiny 1 and early Destiny 2, but Bungie's greed and all the unnecessary grind treadmills they kept throwing at you became more and more obvious, and I quit playing maybe 5 years ago or so. The gunplay in Destiny is so satisfying and fun, though.

I'd be tempted to play again, but I don't have the time to spend doing endless grind cycles.

Great Game. Myself and 2 mates > 5000 hours each, but we gave in to the grind mid 2024.

You'd just get yourself up to speed with good armour/ability/weapons to do the higher level activities (dungeon/raid/ seasonals/master/grandmaster nightfalls) and the season/episode would click over to make that build meh, start the grind again to build to the current meta. rinse repeat.
We came back the last few months to do a couple of new dungeons but could not complete. I think we're a bit broken by the grind

Thanks - sounds like I'd be silly to try and play it again. As much as I'm itching for a bit of the gunplay.

        • It’s free to play, and the first mission of the new DLC whatever it’s called can be played for free. Just go do that, along with a couple of strikes and you’ll get your fix, then be able to move along with your life.

          • @jk82: Thanks. I ended up buying the Legacy pack as a 'just in case'/fill the collection move. It was only $10 as I owned a couple of the expansions already. I might log in and fart around for a couple of hours just as you've suggested.

I literally uninstalled last night after becoming a fking ball of light to run around the map in. this game has fallen so far from grace.

    FYI:

    Uses Kernel Level Anti-Cheat
BattlEye - Requires manual removal after game uninstall

Not that it detracts from the game, it's amazingly fun (or, was).
But lots of people are interested in this after CrowdStrike, and seeing the risks to having Kernel level anything that's not a true driver.

Did they ever get time to explain why the didn't have time to explain?

I think the people explaining ran out of time and were fired by the CEO so he could buy more cars.
