$10 Bonus PayPal for All Accounts for eBay Purchases

5050
cswelcome113

Hi all,

PayPal customer service gave me this coupon code to use to pay for eBay purchases. It will automtically take $10 off the purchase price. You can only use this once per account, but there's nothing stopping you registering an additional account if you have another email address.

Enjoy.

EDIT: Woah. Didn't think this would be so popular. Humbled by all the love guys, glad I could give something back to the great community here. Peace.

EDIT: Unverified myself, but posts are reporting the code no longer works. I'll mark as 'expired'.

Missed it. Now I have to pay $10 instead of save $10.

  • got xbox controller.
the paypal history: i pay $31, paypay pays $10 :)

so close im lucky~ done it just mins ago~

  • The debit card I used ran out so the purchase was cancelled (immediate payment item). Now I can't use the code anymore. Bummer.

  • Went to nab something on my watch list and:

Sorry, this seller is on vacation, so this item is unavailable for purchase.

Is the code still working? Don't want to commit to a purchase without it.

  • The redemption code could not be used for your purchase.
There is no balance left on this redemption code.

  • damnnnnn

  • +5

too much dithering on my part. Brought but was a few minutes too late. the $10 loss is a good punishment.

    Great deal

  • just missed

  • That was quick…lol

    • Its expired

    • Seems its now expired mate

    • its expired!

used the code twice in same account and purchased tablet casing and 16gb sandisk flash drive

  • +2

    WHAT??? SHOULD'VE CAME ON EARLIER!!!!

  • Getting
"The code you entered is not valid. Please try again."

I spent too much time looking for a wallet for $10 or less including delivery.

  • -1

so how do i get out of paying for this crappy $10 item i dont want now

    • You tell the seller that your coupon you were planning to use expired, so you want to cancel the order.

    • +2

They can't do anything if you don't pay. But I did the right thing and paid for my item.

      • They can report you and I think negative rep you, if you care about that.

        • +1

I don't think sellers can negative rep buyers anymore. The most they can do is not leave feedback.

        • +5

Seller cannot leave negative but you will get an nonpay strike.

  • missed $10

  • Sorry you guys missed it, I've got two items coming my way!

    • +1

      because it has expired…

    • +3

that's a risk you were willing to take…

    • the code didn't work but you went through with the order anyway???

      • How did that happen ?

Did you commit to buy and THEN use the code?

Or did you try and use the code first (indicating it expired) and unknowingly clicked next ?

  • Damn it. I was in a meeting. :(

  • +1

maybe someone fast enough and grabbed 10000+ items less than $10
    professional

  • Just got in, damn! someone find another one :D

  • all gone~

  • it didnt work anymore :(

I think someone at ebay/paypal just lost their job…

    • +4

Yep with 1120 clicks, Ebay/Paypal just lost appox. $10,000.

      • +18

Good. After years of screwing me as an eBay seller, they can taste it.

        • They will make it back pretty quickly with their double edged charges from paypal and ebay fees from the sellers.

        • Bite me PAYPAL/FEEBAY!

    • +1

I'm sure yhey'll make it back in a day. There were a few comments on here from people who haven't used their ebay account in 4 years or so, so at least they're bringing old customers back. That's got to be worth something.

  • omg…. sold out.. now how do I pay for my $10 item

    • Just explain to the seller that the coupon you planned to use didn't work, and you'd like to cancel the order :)

      • +2

thank you for your reply! I just bought it anyway! :)
I'll do that if it happens next time!

Neo what an amazing debut on Ozbargain! Reminds me a bit of Michael Clarke's 150 in his first test.

    • +5

      Thanks mate :-)

      Except Neo's not a dick?

    code this month is "cswelcome113"
maybe next month cswelcome213 will works
    (2=feb 13=2013)

    • +8

Possiblly… If you try cswelcome213, the error message is: "This voucher code is not yet ready for use. Please try again later.".

Whereas, if you try a random code, the error message is: "You may have typed in your code incorrectly. Please verify your code and try again."

        sshh.

I know what hardcore OzBargainers will be doing at midnight US East Coast time…

      • If it's a common code used by their customer service staff, and that they killed the code today, there must be another code already in service, and possibly another naming convention.

  • +1

Didn't know what to buy, I thought its gonna last :(

  • its not working for me…

  • Bugger I just ordered 4 HDMI cables that I don't need that costs me $9.

    • same… I ordered two

    • +2

Sell them locally for $100 each :)

      • +8

Good idea. Set up a stall outside harvey norman.

So this is what I miss when I don't check OzBargain every 5 minutes :(

  • +1

missed the coupon, paid my $10, had fun…

  • +2

A google search shows that this code is posted 20+ hours ago on another forum. http://www.google.com.au/webhp?hl=en&tab=ww#hl=en&safe=off&t…

    • +2

Interesting. Customer service gave it to me over the phone after I couldn't add my credit card over the net.

      • +2

So CS was customer service. Perhaps I should call them and do the same sometime next month huh :p

        • +1

Perhaps. Make a new account first though so they can see you havent purchased anything from eBay before. I'd probably suggest waiting until 1st of Feb and trying 'cswelcome213'

        • huh.. I jus posted below I tried that - advises code not 'ready yet'

        • suggest waiting until 1st of feb

    • +1

And it was Moots who posted it so hmm.

      • Maybe this guy

        • Yep that's the one.

        • Yeah but if you log in it was actually posted at "Today, 03:43 PM" adjusted to australian time. So he must have posted after he saw the OzB one

        • Oh that makes sense, thanks for clearing it up. Got a bit confused with Google specifying it was posted almost 24 hours ago.

  • +2

OZbargain twitter FTW. Who has time to reload the website 15 times a day

    • *150 lol but you still have 2 refresh twitter

    • BargainMate iOS app sends out a notification for a deal when it reaches 10 '+'s

  • +2

Thanks for the share. I got wireless mouse x 2.
    (4.05pm)

  • For anyone who has bought something after the coupon has expired, i would suggest messaging the seller. Sellers cannot leave negative feedback. Worst case scenario you get an unpaid item strike against your account. highly unlikely tho. Most sellers are lenient. Just explain the situation :)

    • +6

This is a shit attitude. The seller has to pay a listing fee that's non refundable. As a result of this sort of attitude, ebay makes millions out of seller fees at the expense of sellers.

      • +1

No. The seller can cancel the transaction
        http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/sell/cancel-transaction-proces…

If you've sold an item but can't go through with the sale, you can cancel the transaction in our Resolution Centre and you may receive a credit on your final value fee.

        • +3

Final Value fee yes, but the listing fee is non refundable.

If you list something and your buyer pulls out, tough luck

        • The listing fees have been $0 for a while.

      • I agree, luckily I made it in time but I purchased something I wanted so even if I hadn't got in in time it wouldn't have mattered!

  • Hrm… since I'm stuck with something I thought I'd try some other codes … interestingly cswelcome213 advises the code is not ready for use yet.
Guessing the format here is CS = Customer Service welcome 2 = month 13 = year.
I'm no genius so I wouldn't bet on this code starting next month - after this ones public use they will change the code I'm sure.

    • Read up a tad dude.

      • Page 4 of these comments wasn't on my browser when I posted … guess I should refresh and read everything before posting to avoid the negs?

        • Don't think I neg'd you at least.

        • Ended up 'even stevens' in the end.
Neg or not at least you gave me an inkiling of what I had done - was wondering where the negs came from.

  • +1

Damn, this is like the $25 beer all over again. How many people check ozb every 5 minutes, seems a lot.
