$10 Bonus PayPal for All Accounts for eBay Purchases

5050
cswelcome113

Hi all,

PayPal customer service gave me this coupon code to use to pay for eBay purchases. It will automtically take $10 off the purchase price. You can only use this once per account, but there's nothing stopping you registering an additional account if you have another email address.

Enjoy.

EDIT: Woah. Didn't think this would be so popular. Humbled by all the love guys, glad I could give something back to the great community here. Peace.

EDIT: Unverified myself, but posts are reporting the code no longer works. I'll mark as 'expired'.

Mmmmm … that beer tastes good. I must go put another pack in the fridge.
The refreshing hoppy flavour of a bargain.

    • +2

      dedicated second screen. :)

  • +13

I pressed the +ve a few mins ago then got distracted by work and now it's expired. Let this be a lesson to you kids: don't let work crap distract you for OzBargain goodies :p

  • +2

Damn. Didn't think happy hours ended so quickly.

  • -4

Not working boo! Did PayPal crash? Overload?

  • +39

Just a tip folks, when using coupons like this always good to use "Checkout as a Guest" and not use your usual account. That way, you can see if the coupon will apply before you commit to purchase it.

Saves you the trouble of having the coupon expire and then having to pay full price for it, or just cancel and risk negative feedback

    • a good tip, thanks mate :)

    • +10

ol gil needed this comment 3 hours earlier. Thankyou though, im going to wear my usb that i bought full price around my neck to remind me of this devastating day

  • Just missed it. Good job I bought something I can use, and it was only $10. Still, free would have been better :(

  • Over Under $25,000 Paypal just lost:

    Over $1.91
    Under $1.91

    Place your bets!!

    • +5

whats $25,000 to paypal?…. petty cash!!?

      • I agree it's seen as a small change to them like how we would find $2 on the ground lol

    • +10

They'll make all that back in less than a few minutes I reckon…

Especially with their ridiculous "paypal exchange rate" they use for international purchases…what a rort!

      • Yeah that's such a scam, what can we do besides bow down to the big man!

        • bow, to get a wind up for that upper cut.

      • +1

Um? maybe you could click on the box that says dont convert currency?

      • You know you can select Paypal exchange rates or your own linked bank's exchange rate.

  • Hope more codes or u call stock gets replenished, usually it's like this with PayPal, due to popular demand we have added more codes.

They may have lost $25k, but all the advertising they made for this promo makes it all back from fees, to new members, sales etc.

  • for all u people who have committed to buy, you may be able to contact the buyer to cancel the order

    just give it a go

    • +4

You obviously don't sell on eBay!

  • Missed it. In for more codes!

Deal of the Month had 416 +ve in 10+ days, this got 435 in 3.5 hrs… LOL

Don't you guys just love deals like this?

In one window you're quickly looking for something to buy before the code runs out, whilst in the other window you're constantly hitting F5 to refresh OzBargain to check if the code is still valid. All this while your heart is beating faster haha, it's actually kinda fun :P

    • +4

And all for 10 bucks! In true Ozb style, don't we love it!

    • +1

don't forget that whilst hitting F5 you're looking for awesome bargains other Ozbargainers are posting.

  • +2

Missed it, but i love paypal/ebay and ozb!

    • +5

I love OZB but loathe Paypal/Ebay. Thanks for the deal by the way Neothebird, great first post.

  • missed the deal by few hours but +1 OP delivered!

  • What did you guys buy? I bought a cd, $12.95, $10off, yeah~~~: )

    • +4

      I didnt "buy" anything ;)

  • Thanks OP

  • Still waiting for PayPal $10 extended promo, hurry up PayPal!

  • If you bring it back PayPal..I'll buy the Sunnies Recorder ("$9") I was aiming to get.

  • -4

Why the neg…? Most of these deals when sold out faster than they count they tend to extend them, nothing wrong in hopping for more codes!!!

  • How do I miss out on these deals? I check ozbargain 20 times a day and I still don't seem to see some deals when looking at the "new deals" page…

I must have glanced over it or something.

    • same here. I check Ozbargain all the time. I had a 1 hour tutoring session and I come back to find this amazing deal expired! So sad

  • My Pay Pal account is showing a withdrawl of $9.95 after this transaction? Do you have a list of T&c's.
Are they going to credit my account?
The PayPal checkout screen had a $0 payment
    Bit concerned now?

    • +2

They did a credit for the same amount

    • Click on details and you will see $0 has been paid after a related transaction with the same amount is credited to you. Check your online statements for debit/credit card too if you are worried.

  • Dammit! Paid for something today. Doh!

  • +8

What an ozbargainer would do: Look for anything for $10 and quickly buy it
What a "professional" ozbargainer would do: post a deal for $10 on ebay,
—-switch tabs and use the code to buy that item…
—-switch tabs check bank balance $$$

    • +3

Yeh and pay eBay fees for posting the deal and pay paypal interest…

      • +1

        …well now we know whose not "professional" ;}

    • Holy shit mate!
      That's gold!
Why didn't you post this 5 hours ago! :P

    • does ebay even let you buy your own item?

otherwise need 2 accounts, and most likely the "professional" is still mucking around with posting and switching accounts when the code expires.

      • Previously you could buy your own item although it would have ended up in you being banned, now when you try it blocks you from doing it altogether.

    • After fees, you'll get about $8 instead of $10. If you've been wanting something off eBay, you'll maximise savings by buying it.

      • between paypal and ebay fees it's about 10% of your sale.

  • +2

    The ONE time I don't check OzBargain….

    • A $10 lesson. Not too bad.

  • +1

+462 on your first post, your going to have some bad second album syndrome with your next post.

Great deals like this are few and far between.

  • +8

OZBargain should make an Iphone and android app with push notifications for new deal so that everyone can benefit from it.

Probably a community development. I am in as a volunteer.

    Ram
    Developer

    • there was one linked somewhere above

      • BargainMate sends me push notifications of deals with 10 '+'s.
Unfortunately, it doesn't show me the deal details on iPhone 4S. Something broken I guess.

    • id pay for that

    • Get Push app. It'll push to you real time Twitter posts by OzBargain site on new deals.

      • Is it called "push app"?

        • Push 4.0.

        • Nice, thanks. Is it yours?

        • No? This has been around for a long time. Think there's a thread in OB forum talking about this, that's how I knew about this app. Do a search.

    • Twitter!

  • Considering this I wonder if some eBay sellers used different accounts to buy their own items.

    • +2

Shhhhh, I need to get some of my Ebay fees back.

  • darn missed it,
    ah well +1
keep up with the good finds Ozbargainers!!

  • I bought something for $38 (paid $28) but the seller cancelled it and I got a pending refund of $38. Can I cash out all of it or will $10 be reserved as a voucher or whatever?

  • Woot, torch has been sent out! Now I can sleep easy knowing that no matter what happens, I'll get the torch :D
…well unless Customs decide to be lame and confiscate it for some unknown reason

  • I bought a book on eBay for $21.95, paid $11.95(with voucher code applied), checked my PayPal account today – was charged $21.95. WTF?

    • Check again, were you charged $21.95 but had just had PayPal credit your account for $10?

      • nope, no credit applied

        • Check the source of the fund. When you view "All Activities" and you see the transactions made..go to view details, scroll down and you SHOULD see

          "Funding Type: Redemption Code
Funding Source: $9.98 AUD - Here's $10 to get you started on #CSWELCOME113:

          If not then probs.

        • thank you rekabkram and rack, found it!

  • +1

TIP: For everyone freaking out - PayPal deposits the amount into your PayPal - just visit all activity you will see it there :)

  • -7

HELP! I typed in the coupon code on eBay during check out, it says:"there is not enough funding source for this transaction", then I proceed with transaction. At the end, Paypal still charged me full amount. Has anyone experienced this before? Looks like I can not apply the coupon :(

  • Is it working for anyone anymore?

    • yeah. just go ahead and purchase something and enter the code.

just ignore the pages of comments from Ozbargainer users saying things like "expired", "darn, I missed it", or "deal no longer valid".

      • No need to be a jerk about it. OzBargain doesn't seem to show the most recent page of comments first so all I saw was people praising it. Now I know.

        • I guess you missed the big red EXPIRED and crossed out writing too hey?

        • -5

Sometimes things are wrongly marked as expired early so I thought I would have a go, kk?

    • +2

If your ever curious about if it will still work then buy something that requires immediate payment, your purchase isn't made until you have payed for the item and so you can try your code out without risk.

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/130826316257

Try this one (check the payment info and confirm that it requires immediate payment before you hit buy now).

      • Thank you, thats a really handy tip :)

    • +5

Yeah it worked for me just then, had to use the code "GULLIBLE" though

      • Do you mean use the code GULLIBLE will give you $10 credit too?

      • OK that was kinda funny :P

  • +14

Just tried cswelcome213 instead and it worked (and no, I'm not being funny/sarcastic).

$10 off some ink, a very exciting purchase. :)

    • +1

Post it as a new deal?

      • I've already reported to update the deal with the new code.

        • Ive already posted a new deal.

Hopefully since this one is posted at a different timeslot, lots of people who missed out (like me) will get it this time round

    • YES! I knew I was right not to give up hope! WOO!!!! Thanks :)

    • +1

Thank you, Sir. I mean it sincerely.

    • +1
