Savings Accounts That Allow External Direct Debits

After uBank removed their ability to allow external direct debits (i.e. your credit card full balance) a while ago, I've been on the hunt for the best savings accounts.

It seems like the best I've found is Great Southern Bank 3.80% - 4.35%

Any there any other savings account that has this useful feature? or alternatively, a transaction account that earns a super solid interest rate.

    I think Macquarie allows it?

I do this by using Macquarie savings account. You can schedule to pay off credit cards when the day is due. Macquarie savings rate is 4.5%

Is this what you mean or am I misunderstanding?

      That’s not a direct debit.

      • You are right. I got it wrong. Pretty sure direct debits are also supported.

          Yes, direct debits are supported.

  • Accounts Leaderboard is your friend.

    • Doesn't show which accounts allow external direct debits?

      • Kanga didn't say it was your good friend.

  • Bank of Melbourne/St George Incentive Saver does at 4.65%, but you need to grow your savings by $50 a month to get your interest

Most banks do not allow such direct debit on saving accounts for a reason. It seems convenient until a fraudster impersonates you to debit thousands out of your account. People usually don't leave lots of money on transaction account but on saving account.

  • St George Incentive Account & Macquarie Bank Saver accounts allow Direct Debits.
