A straight up lie, weird you'd do that. You won't be able to provide a link to a new, similarly specced, laptop at the price of $1099, let alone defend the opinion that it should be $800.
@marshmall0w2: You haven't provided anything to back your opinion, there is nothing to argue with. Did your parents just agree with everything you ever said?
@marshmall0w2: Hahaha, you a proud of this foolishing thinking. Providing verified evidence (or links in this case) to support your arguments isn't just common courtesy in saving people time, it helps prevent you look like a fool or a liar, it also builds trust and credibility.
@marshmall0w2: "Second, all my comments are to the benefit of the buyer so they are more informed." - Oh my, I did get a good laugh out of this, your ignorance is sky high.
So, you obviously don't like logic, just gut feelings. I mean, how can you say that your opinions is to keep buyers informed, but also say that providing evidence to support your assertions is spoon-feeding? You also made a claim that you could find this laptop in the past for $1,099 and you can search for it, which I did, and I can see you have made a straight up lie. This website is about helping people save money, doing so by providing links (evidence) to better deals so they can save money, not to add to your echo chamber of feelings.
Look out, the gaming laptop police are here…
Well you've literally never posted a deal, so you ain't doin much serving. You'd think the emperor of gaming laptop specs could throw us peasants a bone every now and then…
@marshmall0w2: All it would take are some examples of alternatives to back up your claims. But until you do it you've got no credibility. But you do you.
I agree it should be $800…
If they change the CPU from the higer performance HX i5 to a battery life optimized one, change the RAM/Storage config from 32GB/1TB down to 16GB/512GB and remove the RTX 4060 just leaving it integrated graphics I think it will be worth $800.
Nah, your valuation is off. I get why you'd think $800 would get you that, but not as a "good deal" just a standard price on those specs. This RTX 4060 is not a good deal in my book.
Yes, but what is your book (opinion) worth to us?
@marshmall0w2: Just think, another sperm could have fertilized the egg you got to first.
Isn't no way you are providing anything useful to the community, time to hide all of your comments.
@marshmall0w2: Hey mate why not update your book and say it should be $0 and then it'll be worth a saving off $1350 for us!
Totally doesn't matter if you literally can't get a 4060 under $1000 anywhere but no matter since your book is based on fiction
My 4060 laptop was 2400 on sale, so there's a large range depending on specifics of configuration.
Cheaper than a ROG Ally X and way more powerful.
And 5 times bigger bro
Ah I see you're that type aye, have to go against everyone's opinion/comment.
No? Just pointing out why it's a bad comparison? Many OzBs do the same for bad comparisons
Should've held for a good laptop, I trigger pulled for a steam deck and used it for 2 hours in last 2 months
Inflation.
Typing this on my Victus 5800HX RTX3060 that I got for under $1,100 almost three years ago.If you look at historical RTX 4060, they also reached $1100s.
Incorrect
Where are you looking this up? Maybe share the links
Fhd? This is a waste for a 4060
144 Hz though.
No. The resolution is too weak. You'll have much less detail
I agree because I'm on 16:10 1440 at 14" 165 and it's brilliant, but a 4060 will be rock solid stable on current gen at 1080 144, so not a terrible config TBH
Very strange to have a 16" laptop with a 16:9 display.
I'll take framerate over resolution at 16.1 inches.
FHD is fine for a 4060. xx50 and xx60 are entry level cards with low VRAM targeting FHD, and QHD is the upper limit for a xx60.
QHD is optimal for a xx70 and above imo.
My current and previous laptops are xx60 with QHD screen, and it can't run many games at high settings on QHD screen.
Anything beyond FHD is too much for a desktop 4060 8GB let alone a gimped laptop variant.. Also 1080p 15" is a higher PPI then a 32" 4K monitor.. It's fine.
I actually hate that so many laptops have higher PPI it's diminishing returns at that size and costing you framerates.
Touchscreen?
Thanks op! How do you think about No thunderbolts?
The port config is certainly odd on these, only one USB-C port and no rear ports on a gaming laptop?
Is it a good deal?
Will this help me be better at counter strike?
Yes. i5-14450HX And RTX 4069 8GB combo is said to help aim better
Arguably yes I'd say this is perfect entry point for a competitive shooter
Yes instead of dying in 2 seconds it takes 3.
is this worth it? another $200+ on top it's almost double the cost compare to RTX3050…
What $200? It's $560 on top.
gosh…you just don't get it yeah?
add another $200+ ($240) you get 2 of the RTX3050 unit!
In English?
Damn, I just got a asus tuf 4060 for $1480 for half the ram and storage. Should I return it and get this?
Of course if you can.
screen is IPS 300 nits, 62.5% sRGB
The Victus by HP Laptop is made for peak PC gaming.
Peak PC gaming? Peak would imply that the concept of PC gaming has reached its pinnacle with this mid-range laptop, and that PC gaming will experience an inexorable decline from this point onwards.
The other day I saw a McDonalds promo spruiking 'peak chicken', which arguably makes even less sense. I guess this is what happens when the corporate boardroom decides to adopt Gen Z slang as part of their marketing strategy.
