great oil, but add this to the description

"It is NOT recommended for use in diesels fitted with a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) that require an ACEA “C” grade Low-SAPS (Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus & Sulphur) engine oil."

    Good for petrol Mercedes cars.

  • Any current offer on supercheap gift card ? Didn't find any active one on sale at colesworth

  • I believe this is not their 100% pao IV oil but rather a mixture of III and IV oil. Correct me if I am wrong

    • Correct, this would be a group III oil. The PAO is marketed as premium synthetic.

      FAQ

      • Spot on. Both of you. 👍

Wow…$43 bucks for engine oil. What happened to the $20 odd dollar deals?

    • +1

Sounds like you're after a solution from gulf western, penrite wont ever be cheaper than this price, for this particular product.

      • I’m curious to know what makes penrite a more premium product than say gulf western?

        • +1

What makes jatz/ritz more premium than etons.

The magic 8 ball surely has the answers.

I still buy the penrite though, just look at that branding, i makes more feel more like a motor vehicle enthusiast than i really am!

        • @ab c should be able to provide some insight into this.

        • Marketing, plus it does taste a bit better.

        • Additives such as pao and ester, zinc, n etc. Try looking up mobil 1, Liqui Moly 100% synthetic oils and you will know this penrite oil is considered to be "budget"

          • @kenjai: This has no pao or ester in it. It's just a group III hydrocracked oil.

          penrite's aus company, aus made

          • +1

            @0jay: As is Gulf Western

            • @BigBirdy: Use Gulf oil (without the Western on the end:) ), expensive for there best, but very very good:)

  • Synthetic.

Needing some good 'ol mineral preferably 40/10-5 by next month 👀

  • Add Full Synth to the title would also be helpful.

Penrite 5W-30 was selling for $38 (5L) in the beginning of June.

    • Yep, $37 last week at Repco.

  • My car needs 6L. Can it be mixed with Penrite Full Synthetic 5W-30?

  • +1
    • Isn't this a better oil?

      why y say that?

    • +2

I'm sure that's also fine, but the oil in this deal has OEM approvals to give you more peace of mind and Penrite is both Australian owned and made.

    • +3

3 dollarbuck difference, buy the Penrite with the OEM approval. OEM approval cost plenty monies… support Aussie company.
