Looks like there isn't any stock…

    • Don't worry about that - plenty coming in

Keep in mind that the promotion doesn't begin until tomorrow (valid only for purchases between the 23rd of January and 8th of March).

I find it slightly amusing that NetPlus' Sales Manager would drop the price of Caviar Greens to what MSY's price is, offer her own name as a coupon code and ask OzBargain to enter her name as the person who served you for an ONLINE sale into a competition.

Personally, I think it's quite wrong for the Sales Manager of a company to be abusing their power like this; because it means the salesperson physically serving customers in-store loses out when their manager is spruiking themselves on the internet to get a leg-up in this competition. It's even worse that you try to mislead people into thinking that NetPlus is one of the few select retailers who can participate in this competition, which doesn't appear to be true because a) there are no T&Cs up yet and b) the field where you enter the shop name where you made the purchase, there is no drop down list of the sort to indicate exclusivity to certain retailers who can participate in this competition.

Edit: tl;dr what pmupsinep said below.

      • If Stephanie wins, the prize gets shared company wide. If another sales person wins, he/she gets the prize.

We had been assured that it is exclusive to selected retailers, so can only go by what we've been told.

how do you share a single big ass tv?

        • +1

In the office to so everyone can watch/raffle it off, etc etc.

I find it amusing that ppl are more than happy to exploit a loophole if they can get gains out of it but when someone else's doing it, it's bloody murder.
I guess it's the Ozbargain way.

  • Any deals for 2TB or more?

    • $95 for 2tb, $139 for 3tb. Although those discounts will need to be entered manually so you will have to email your order through.

      • Whole bunch of other drives are now updated and eligible

  • +3

Not a great deal, IMO, since this is already $69 at MSY (excl. delivery, though) and 2TB's are better value. Seems more of an opportunity to advertise your competition, which belongs here

    • +2

Yup.. Seems more like an ad for sale referrals.

  • Stephanie, is that you? :O

    Edit: I goofed.

Form requires full name of sales assistant who served you.

T&Cs for this promotion isn't up yet, but it doesn't say any where about only select retailers being eligible for this promotion…

    • You're right: Need to enter sales person as STEPHANIE GOH

  • Price is $77 on site, blue is $69 though…

    • Use the promo code

      • +2

I think what he's getting at is the generally better/faster caviar blue 1TB drive is already only $69 on your site.

Why do we need a coupon code to reduce the bottom end 'green' drive to that of the blue?

Everything about this advertisment sorry, 'deal' reeks of dodgyness on NetPlus' behalf.

        • Whole bunch of other drives are now updated and eligible

        • Since when can we do strikethrough's? I didn't think Markdown supported them.

        • Yes… Because either NetPlus is going to give you a fake receipt dated the 23rd if you buy one today, or because WD actually got their dates wrong and hard drives purchased on the 22nd of January are eligible, not the 23rd…

        • Today's orders will be processed today, but cannot be invoiced until tomorrow as it is quite late in the day.

  • +5

Like prospective said, This is more about the competition and getting referrals from WD than a good price, it's the same price as half a dozen stores which would probably equate to plenty of physical locations which people would be able to pickup from. Don't let this bullshit competition fool you, it's not just for Netplus customers but 100,000 other people who buy WD products and enter into it.

We've been assured it is only for selected retailers - but, what would we know?

      • +1

        Selected 1000 retailers?

  • +12

The deal is not very clear - what do I need to do to win Stephanie?

    • +7

you dont win Stephanie, she gets shared company wide!?!

      • or is it one big ass tv shared between you and stephanie and the rest of the company

      • How rude!

you dont win Stephanie, she gets shared company wide!?!

I've never met a nice STEPHANIE. They all have an identity crisis and wish they were Stephens.

  • 1tb Scorpio Black 2.5" - WD10JPVT - $95

Isn't that supposed to be Scorpio Blue

    • Yes, you are right. Corrected - thanks

  • Is the WD30EZRX 3 or 4 platter version? I'm asking because the older 4 platter version vibrates too much.

  • the cheaper green drive is still my favourite, dead quiet.

  • Is a 2TB HD thicker than 1TB HD?
I have an external HD case for 1TB. The original HD is dead. Can I put a 2TB HD in it?

    • 3.5" Hard drives are a pretty standard format, so if it's 3.5" then you'll more than likely be ok. There are 2 (maybe more) thicknesses of 2.5" drives 9mm and 11mm, someone may correct me but a lot of the portable 2.5" drives use 11mm, so you may be ok either way. I'd suggest measuring your current HDD if it's 2.5"

      • Thanks a lot. mine is 3.5".
