Stock on these go pretty fast too. Buy now, think later. If they sell out they may come back and drop in price again randomly later.

    • These or Color one for backyard monitoring and mounting under the eaves?

      • +2

You really can't beat ColorX for night vision. These are the older models with your standard IR night vision, but at such a low cost they're good value at 5MP.

      • Depends on ambient light. I have ColorX at the front of my house as the street light is enough to give a good picture. The backyard is too dark though so they'd need their lights on all the time, which I don't want.

    • missed out, should i buy one to start with?

even if i set it up like in months time? since i have no idea or experience w setting up sec cams

  • +2

I got these for $18.81 last month with coins and coupons.
You can also get the 8ch poe NVR now for around $215 with coupons

    • Link for the NVR??

    • Link pls

      • Won't let me put link, it's on the coins page.

        • What's the model?

          • @laudalashun: Reolink 4K 8CH Human/Car Detecion NVR for 4MP/5MP IP Security Camera 24/7 H.265 Video Recorder 12MP Surveillance Kit NVR Set

        • Upload a screenshot and I'll share it here with a coins discount link that won't trip the filter. Or PM it to me :)

    • Yup I paid US$21.62 with coins and AliExpress credit. After the cashback and and credit with this it's going to be pretty cheap and a nice addition to the setup.

      • I'm still yet too set mine up, hopefully soon :)
Can you please put the NVR in this post to?

  • +1

I'd prefer a WiFi device, easier for my use case

Any recommendations for similar but WiFi?
    Thanks :)

    • wifi sucks for cameras, theres a reason there aren't many

  • +1

Anyone else not able to get anywhere close to that price? Mine are showing as $90 on landing

    • $90 what? USD or AUD? Have you selected the right bundle? The pair of two is US$73.49 and not what this deal is on.

      • +1

It was $90 AUD for the single.

    • Same here, but I'm getting $71 upon signing in and only getting a $4.7 discount with the code applied

Update: got it to work on the app

    Nice price for extra cameras.

I mounted my NVR in a 10" mini rack.

    • This isnt neccessary but damnit looks cool, i want one!!

      • +1

Also let's me add a 2nd hard drive to the NVR

I still have work to do on it, ading in switch and other bits

  • Don't have any poe at home now how much roughly would it cost to wire it in? Guessing there should there be a Ethernet port nearby for this otherwise it will cost labour plus whatever metres of cable

    • Ok saw this now

power it with a PoE switch/injector or power adapter and for storage it supports a microSD card

      • +1

You still need to wire it to an NVR or a switch

I have a Reolink NVR in my office but didn't want 4 cameras being wired through the room. Bought the POE switch and have the NVR connected to it, and the cameras connected to the switch. It's excellent bang for buck.

Whenever I try to use a coupon I always get:

For security reasons your request can't currently be processed

Does anybody get this? Or know a fix?

  • Absolute bloody bargain mate, good find.

  • Sorry if this is a terrible question… Is it worthwhile holding out for deals on 4k cameras instead? Are they a better long term option? Thanks!

    • I have both 5MP and 8MP 4k. Both work easily as well. 4K obviously has better resolution so helps with zooming in the video. R820 4k is around $90 from eBay and has pet detection with R520 don’t. Other thing to consider is the Field of View - the 5MP R520 has slightly wider FoV so can see larger area but not by much.

      • Thank you so much!

    • 4k are better than 5MP, and 12MP are better than 4k for quality, but not aspect. Larger quality also means bigger storage needs. First thing to always check is the vertical and horizontal field of vision and work your way from there. No point having excellent quality of 80 degrees, I'd rather have really good quality of 93 degrees.

  • Crazy deals.

    $294.93

Less $25 cash back (looks like it works, we'll soon find out) brings it to $269.93.

    • Is the white doorbell recommended for improved vertical view? Black for horizontal?

      • +1

I got no idea, I just bought it because the white one was OOS. Hopefully its good ha

      • +2

Yes that's correct. I also believe that the white one has package detection whereas the black one doesn't.

        • I think you're correct as I wanted package detection. Just assumed they were the same and got the black one. I couldn't find anything in the app about packages.

  • Price AU$52.53 now? I'm getting AU$56.22 total after tax of AU$8.39 and discount of AU$4.70.

  • Anyone have a recommendation for a cheap ~20-30m Cat 5e/6 cable for these cams?

    • eBay have plenty of options. Would recommend buying 100m+ and just cut to length

    • Hit up Facebook Marketplace, I've managed to get a few boxes over the years ridiculously cheap

    • I use and buy these ones from Amazon and they do very well.

  • Are these good at night? i've been looking for a poe camera setup thats good at night where you can recognise faces and licence plates

    • +2

Faces will be dependant on angle. It's better to have lighting to pick up faces

License plates will be extremely difficult. Even expensive gear struggles to pick up license plates at night

    • +2

Not great, unless you have strong ambient lighting.

Duo 2 w/ floodlight or the ColorX CX810 are better options for Reolink if low light vision is important.
