Heh, that one code says poop

Great codes! HOWEVER be cautious- AE seems to be going through a dodgy phase. Damaged goods, items not shipped, stalling returns on damaged or items not arriving - incorrect refund!!!!
I made about 5 seperate orders recently. I often add some small value items to reach the discount minimum spend.
On every order one item was not shipped. It was prepared etc but not sent out (or some other issue occurred). AE automatically refunded the item after a few weeks (or painful dispute sometimes with PayPal getting involved) however they deduct the discount from the refund. They don’t split it over all items like eBay. In most cases it was the more expensive preferred purchase that wasn’t sent.

Example: $2 off $19. I purchase an $15 item and some random $4 stuff. They charge $19 (then some odd GST calculation that’s greater than 10%). They don’t ship the $15 item and issues refund of $13 ($15 take $2 coupon). They do not even refund the GST you paid on the item that wasn’t shipped! So effectively you’re paying full price for the other items which you kinda assumed would be almost free due to the coupon.

Further, if you use a cashback app that won’t acknowledge an order if any part of the order is refunded then you also lose the cashback.

PayPal has indicated AE stall disputes to try and void the 30 day PayPal period.

They are also using a bunch of terrible last mile couriers!

As someone who has shopped with AE for like 15 years these kinda issues have come and gone a couple of times and at the moment it’s particularly poor.

It’s not a huge loss (unless you make a big purchase with decent cashback) however it’s immensely frustrating.

I spent nearly $400 with 15% cashback (from memory) and lost the cashback because of a $6 item I bundled with the purchase that wasn’t never posted. Now with bigger purchases I try to buy them individually. I’m not sure if they way they post (consolidating items) will still pose an issue if you purchase separately shortly after.

I've been having the opposite experience with heaps of orders shipped and received. Choice items most of the time get combined, unless they're large and bulky.

Are you having this with both Choice and non-Choice? Are they new low feedback stores?

      • You’re their MVP - AE won’t get you offside ;-). Seriously though. This has mainly been with choice items. I’ve had zero issues with the bundles deals.

I actually moved to choice as I had poor experience with a seller and found choice was pretty good. You could return locally and I believe they paid for shipping.

        Now perhaps it has switched.

        • I noticed the Cashback merchants are tracking each item now, instead of the full order.

          • @tunzafun001: Noticed this too. T&Cs from TCB look promising as it doesn’t refer to any part of the order (which is what one of them use to have).

Small amount orders this time, all less than $100, so it’ll be a good way to see how they track.

      • FWIW AE support have been garbage for me too. Great for years, but over the past year awful. Literally show them video evidence of broke or defective items and they will only do partial refunds.

        • My account says it's entitled to 5 free returns a month and they'll give me a label. Due to the high number of orders I'm getting early refunds the moment Auspost scan it in. I think that's the big thing for them - spend a lot and they'll take better care..it's stupid I know.

    • I had a return credited today without any intervention or delay

      • What is a choice item?
I have rarely had to return anything until recently.

        • +1

Yeah, I almost only ever purchase choice items, because that's the only way to have any sort of "guarantee" as such. At least that's how I interpret it, and a non choice item it's between you & the seller and they can easily blanket deny without recompense. Unless there's absolutely no other option or happens to be a significant saving (which is almost never)

        • Worth also noting that I received ~10% additional refund over what I paid, I think for opting for AliExpress credit over refund to payment method

          • @parad0x: Hmmm..id check that. I thought the same, until I realised I paid significantly more GST on that item.

If you chose the Ali credit option, then change your mind and go for the refund..you lose the GST paid.

As per op…all a bit "dodgey"

            • -1

@tunzafun001: Except I didn't lose anything, post clearly says I gained, and even if I'm actually quoting the pre-gst-figure, then the difference is +$1-3 up on GST-inc. So there's actually absolutely nothing "dodgy" to see here I'm afraid.
The same thing happened with my previous return, making it two returns in consecutive purchases of the same product from two different companies

            • @tunzafun001: Sorry just reread your post, and realised what's going on all at once just now. The "bonus* they speak of, is the fact that they're returning the GST amount - which I have no problems with because the full amount is available from the get go. It's also justifiable, in my eyes that you'd face a fee of some description for changing your mind after the fact. It's a service that they're providing at the end of the day to be able to make that change. I've got money with TEMU because I apparently ordered stuff in my sleep a couple of weeks ago, and I don't even have an option short of attempting to contact Support which immediately becomes more effort than it's worth. I'm in no hurry to find out how bad their support is.

It's a little smoke and mirrors, and if you think it's dodgy I can definitely understand that but when it comes down to it, I don't have a problem with it . A flat rate of GST though, if applied to thousands of dollars is when I wouldn't be happy but that's not something I ever have to worry about lol

          • @parad0x: I might try that next time as I’m guaranteed to use it. Not sure how long it’s valid?

Actually- I was quite impressed with the OzB group thing. I forget the name but we could sign upto a team and pool purchases for cash backs.

            • @Low Punt: Yeh it's not available for every sale, but we do seem to absolutely kill it… I guess that's what happens when you've got a national shopping team lol.

It was particularly useful for me, because my first purchase I had suspicions that it might not work, but still I wanted to try another option hence the 2nd refund, and now I'll go down the refurbished original route with my 2nd refund. So it's not going to be sitting there for much longer.

I don't know specifically how long it's valid, but I would be quite surprised if the period was anything short of 12mths. It's account credit, justifiably my cash in their possession. Taking it, regardless of any terms that might be in the fine print, without just cause or prior warning would be a move on a level that not even they're capable of stooping to

              • @parad0x: I think it’s 30 days. Looked up the post last night but forgot. I need a hard see for my headphones so It’ll be gone today.

    • +1

Yeah I'm getting the same feeling.

Have made plenty of orders without issue, but the past 2 batches I've received a completely wrong item

One order was Bluetooth speaker, got a random carry bag

And the other time I ordered kids PJs and got the wrong option

Both refunded quickly but having to order again and losing cashback is a pain.

      • I've had a dodgy experience. I purchased an expensive perspex display case which arrived with one side shattered. I tried to start a return and it wouldn't allow the option.

I told the seller about the damage with photos and they offered to send me a replacement if I purchase another.

I did a dispute and AE solution was "no refund" and the matter is closed. Wtf

I've sent them a final email as I've paid through PayPal and if they don't sort it I'll just do a charge back I guess. How many chances can you give to make it right.

        • So my post is 100% correct. It's not a sitewide sale, it's limited and to see what's eligible you try. Thanks for confirming.

        • +1

It depends on the seller/item. The codes are released by AE and they don’t work on everything. It’s tedious but sometimes you need to try item by item as adding an eligible and ineligible item to cat will result in the code failing. In 90% of cases I’ve been able to get a code to work with my order.

I would much rather OP post them and let me choose if I wish to stuff around testing than not at all.

    • another post where all codes don't work

Fake news and laziness from SpeedAU

Codes work and I went and bought something prior to this deal posted and re-tested it on the same item, the code did work

      • -4

        cool story

  • -3

Be very very careful buying anything from these people. My purchase was just over 90 days ago and they refuse to repair or replace the product! Paid over $500.00 and they are refusing to help. Scammers!!

    • Operative word being "over". What exactly do you expect? Them to break their ToS just for you?

  • +2

Hoping for some upsized cashback to go with these codes.

    • +1

Agree! TCB has been great lately, feels like 10% is becoming the new default. Currently at 5.5% so hopefully it stacks.

@Clear These influencer codes should stack with cashback right? And only 1 per account correct?

      • Absolutely, TCB have been great, and the 10% is nice to offset the GST.. anything else is a bonus!
Except, the item I wanted just jumped up $20 in price, so unless it comes back down again I won't be needing the upsize now..!

  • Be aware, Ali don't even approve refunds for incorrect item sent, a $2 choice item, uploaded photo of the item and package as requested and still rejected. Complete 180 from earlier days. And don't even think about change of mind returns.

  • With all the comments pointing out negative experiences I'd like to say I've had misty positive ones but I have had a few orders I've not been happy with.

two in particular is over A$100 orders.

One i only got a partial refund but the item didn't work at all and was incompatible with my device even tho it should be. Like a manufacturer defect sort of thing.

Took ages just to get a partial refund of like 60% of the item value and I'm still salty about it years later.

Besides that I do enjoy some of the deals and small purchases I've made by buying on aliexp directly instead of paying for the same thing on Amazon or eBay for an extra 20-30% upcharge etc. but at the same time I feel like these items were safer buys.
Some things it's better not to risk buying on aliexp.

  • I tried using IFP1DPTX on an order by applying at checkout but it’s like the code is too short. The apply button won’t become active unless I add one more character. Tried a few others of lower value, same issue. Can someone suggest what might be the issue?

    • +1

It's a glitch when you copy and paste a code. Add a character and backspace, then the button works.

  • I might be the lucky few that have never had any problems and if I do they refund 100% of the time.

Been buying off them for years.

  • Anyone else experiencing shopback + Aliexpress being unavailable, in the last day or so?

    • Yes, the Shopback site shows Aliexpress as Merchant unavailable, and the browser extension doesn't work either. I'm going to just use TCB it's a similar %.

  • Trying to apply the code to the GMKtec G2 Mini PC at https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005007003451686.html but none of them work. Not sure what I am doing wrong :(

    • It's a Big Save item, which are often excluded from coupons.

If you've got AliExpress coins, you can buy it from the Coin section for slightly less.

The coupons should apply on nearly all products with the exception of the usual products, like mobile phones, Big Save limited products and new user accounts with the welcome deal discount. You'll just have to test and see

      • Bummer. Thanks for the info.

  • Thank you, it worked for me.

  • @Clear

Thankyou!! my code worked 👍 🍕🍻

  • Thank you, OP!

From what I can tell, these don't seem to save like usual, need to use them immediately.

  • this one is working USD $20 off $159 IFPGRTT.

I backed out of a purchase and made sure to remove the coupon so I didn't take it.

    • +1

Just used it, I bought a new headunit with it and saved about $31 AUD thanks to your code. Much appreciated!

      • I mean OP posted the code. but yeah thought it would help someone out because I tried all others with similar spend and those didn't work for me. 😀

      • Was the product part of the Big Save deals?

  • Used a $1 code. Perfect for cheap items and combining with coins in the app.
