    you only need the first one

    • And just watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBCQ0_ZNJf8
      Best scene in any of the sequels. It looks ordinary enough in a CGI world, but they actually built a fake stretch of highway and smashed up a bunch of cars instead.

        I maintain that if 3 was good, 2 wouldn't be as hated. It would just be known as the weaker bridging movie of a trilogy. But because 3 was horrible, 2 doesn't even lead up to anything good. 2 isn't horrendous, it's just kinda disappointing. 3 is horrendous, 4 is the worst movie I've ever seen in my life.

    • I remember the waves it made when it came out. but I didn't watch it back then. only after a few layers of matrix related jokes and memes settled down I got a copy to watch at home. yeah it was cool.

      watched the 2nd one with uni friends at the cinema properly when it came out, and that's the one that impressed me the most

      whatever came out afterwards, I don't even have imprinted in my memory

      • watched the 2nd one with uni friends at the cinema properly when it came out, and that's the one that impressed me the most

        IMO you should watch the 2nd and 3rd in one sitting, makes more sense that way. Unfortunately I watched all three in one session before watching the 1st, setting up myself for disappointment.

      • That's the thing about 3, it's somehow boring. They took the most interesting concept for a movie and somehow made it boring as hell. So it's forgettable. I don't know how they even did that.

    Matrix trilogy…4 movies

      we dont like to talk about number 4

      hell number 3 stretches the bounds of sanity

      That's the glitch in the 'Matrix' ;)

    Missing The Animatrix, which is well worth getting separately IMO.

    There is a fifth one on the way.

    Get rid of number 4 from the box and I’ll buy it.

  • +2

    What’s on the other 3 discs?

    • Matrix 1:
      * Extended cut
      * Directors cut
      * Directors extended cut

      • Thanks. Bought it! :)

        What are you on about? There's no such thing as a Matrix extended/director's cut.

    That 4th one was unwatchable

  • +12

    The 2nd and 3rd were already very meh, the 4th one was diabolical.

      It's fairly depressing seeing the level of craft involved crater. There's a lot of story issues with 2 and 3 but they're still pretty immaculately put together otherwise… While 4 just isn't. Due to stuff like the DP (John Toll who shot The Thin Red Line and Braveheart) having to leave after very little filming due to someone in his family being hit hard by Covid and being inexplicably replaced by the camera operator whose only DP credits were 15 years earlier on bad small budget Italian comedies lol.

      Nothing, it was fantastic. The creators didn't want do it but the studios forced their hand so they made a terrible movie about how nostalgia is a bad thing and some things should be just let be, great message and a great middle finger to hollywood.

      • I am surprise the studios released it and didn't try to reshoot it.

      • This dude gets it

        • They must be the only person on here who watched the whole thing. I started it twice and both times I couldn’t get through it.

      • Really makes it much more enjoyable to watch

    • It's a meta film / art film that doesn't want to be a good film. It keeps sabotaging itself, and throwing both the series and itself under the bus. If your opinion of the series, it's legacy, and modern culture matches the creator you may enjoy it a lot. But if you're looking for an enjoyable film you'll be sorely disappointed.

      IMO the worst part is it could have been an enjoyable film while still being a meta film deconstructing the series and its legacy. However the creator chose to make art rather than an enjoyable film.

    The Matrix hasn't been good since Dick Smith was a physical store.

    Damn I missed out

    The Matrix - Top Tier Film
    The Matrix Reloaded - Not bad, but not great, still a good popcorn movie.
    The Matrix Revolutions - Pretty bad, but at least it brought an 'end' to the trilogy and finished some character arcs. Final fight was pretty badass.
    The Matrix Resurrections - Why? Just why? It's just a bunch of recycled ideas from the first film, without a proper plot or any character arcs. Total cash-grab that flopped.

  • Says sold out when I click link :/

    Great deal. I bought the original for this price.

  • In Matrix 4 Neo turns from a god into a scared air bender…

    I hated 4 when I saw it at the cinema, but that’s because I didn’t understand it or the context.

    Once I went home and read up on it, it finally clicked. Now I love it.

    If you hate it because of the bad story and cg, then you’re still in The Matrix.

    • +2

      If you have to read up on a movie to enjoy it, it isn't a good movie.

    The Matrix 4: Freddy got fingered

  • Spuing i missed this. So cheap.

  • I don't think I could handle the embarrassment of a guest potentially seeing that I own a copy of The Matrix 4.

    The Matrix 4 is literally the worst movie I've ever seen. It's The Room level of embarrassing.

    • But "The Room" is one of those so bad it's good movies. Unlike this movie, I wanted to punch a wall after watching matrix 4.
