      Scamsung?

    3 x Price because it has 32GB Ram instead of 16GB, touch, 4G LTE and 11Gen i7 vs i5?

Because its a completely different model and brand with higher quality and specs? Yeah

      • -8

Yes my question was if the incremental specs justified 3 x prices?

Brand - Apologies for my potential ignorance but I was not aware that Lenovo was the Apple of Windows and had the premium Apple Tax!

Model: Disagree - Would be true had this been the ThinkPad X1 Carbon

        • Have you looked at Lenovo T14 Gen2’s?

I have been looking for a month and currently have one.

          1) they are better than the Dell ones
          2) they all are about this price for this laptop.

So yeah. Tad bit expensive on this listing so I wouldn’t call it bargain but nothing to downvote.

          • @Larsson: That Dell is definitely a bargain though.
But personally I would only get the X series from Lenovo.

      • For sure, T14s competes with Latitude 7000 series, that 5000 has cheaper build and lower end

    • +2

FWIW that one was B-grade, the equivalent A-grade went for $299 (see comments).

This one would be more appealing around $400, maybe $450. The RAM diff is $50, then $50-$100 for touch and Thinkpad.

      • +1

Agreed- But the A grade for $299 was never considered a deal in the first place.

        05th March 2025: A grade - Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 2, touch i5 1145G7, NVMe 256GB, 16GB, W11 PRO $319.20 Delivered

        • +1

That's fair. If we take this other one as a comparison then $350-$400 sounds around the right ballpark. The extra 16GB of DDR4 is still +$50 if upgraded separately, both have touch, and T-series Thinkpad is better than L-series but that's less significant on refurb/used.

          • +1

            @elusive: Yes Agreed.

            Bottom Line:
1.5 x of the Dell Deal would have been Fantastic deal
2 x of the Dell Deal would have been Decent deal
3 x of the Dell Deal may have been a good deal at FB Market Place !!!

    • Yep its target some noobies who think wow 32gb! I7!

      • Also considering that the image displayed in the listing seems to have been taken from the manufacturer promotional material (brand new)

    • If you need the LTE modem and touch screen, it's a decent price. If you don't care about LTE, you'll probably see similar specs pop up a bit cheaper over the next few months.

LTE isn't in most corp laptops and they tend to be at a slightly higher price point.

Price seems high for a 4 years old laptop. No guaranteed the RAM is 3200 and 80% battery life on a 11th Gen i7 CPU will only last 3 or 4 hours max. I think if it is $450, it will be a decent buy. (Just my opinion)

    • -2

You're being very generous. I would say a 50% price premium to the Dell deal would have been a real bargain.

    • +1

$300 would be more like it.

    • +1

It is a high price. I have one of these for work, the CPU performance is not great, and neither is the battery life. I'd say it's the worst Thinkpad I've used.

    • +13

You've done it, you've beaten Marshmallow with the dumbest comment in a laptop thread

  • +1

Hey OP, can you do Gen3 for this price? If so, I am sold!

    • Ditto!

  • +4

    nice AI post

    • Not enough usage of emojis

  • +4

This posting is got to be kidding. How can this be called a bargain. So expensive !!!

    • +5

I agree. I still fail to understand how a 4 year old laptop sold closer to $600 is a deal in this forum.
At work the ThinkPad X1 goes the the IT dept frequently so the claim that T14 Gen 2 are the best in the class is not true.

The battery has not been replaced. Experts will tell you that a four year old battery showing 80% capacity today meaning absolutely nothing and can fail anytime without warning. Battery degradation does not happen linearly and chip in the battery is unreliable in predicting remaining capacity and battery health in older batteries.

My reply clearly pointing out those facts have been neg and hidden.
Mods might need to review the voting patterns to see any conflict of interest.

      • +1

All of this may be true, and the bargain point certainly is, but I'd still buy Thinkpad over anything for business purposes.

  • Maybe pump the ssd to 1T for more considerable?

    • -2

You are living in the past. It's all in the cloud now baby!

  • Can we get a deal on the X1 Yoga gen 6 pretty please?

  • Any news on when we will start to see 12th gen intel refurb deals? keen for the big+LITTLE architecture bump.

  • I have a T14 Gen4 for work with a 13th gen i5 / 32gb ram. And unless you set it to power saving modes where it runs quite slow, the fans run at noisy speed, constantly. I’m sensitive to this noise and so set it to power save and remote into another machine to do actual work. Plus everyone else who uses their laptop out of a dock, the finish on the touchpad and keys smooth and become shiny and it looks terrible. I would avoid at any price.

    • -1

You’re post will be hidden soon as there seems to be an army to specially to down vote and hide any objective criticism for reasons I can only speculate

      • Still upset you were downvoted two days ago? Here's one on the house.

  • +1

it’s touchscreen, so has glass in front of the lcd so no scratches, i don’t use the touch function but like it as it’s acts as a screen protector and easier to clean.

    • +1

      It is heavier though. Tradeoffs
