    Savings makes cents thanks

  • Argh should've held off longer and waited for this same instead (vs 10% off previously)

    • +2

They always have 25-30% off sales so it’s worth waiting. At least once a month

      • +1

Know this now for next time!

  • +2

just price matched a quadlock case online which will be much cheaper this arv. glad I saw this post before I checked out.

    • Price Matched with who?

      • +2

99 Bikes were $5 cheaper. Quadlock seem to have just increased their cases by $5 and 99 Bikes haven't updated their prices yet while SCA have. I'll see if the price matched price gets discounted but I doubt it.

        • Did it work? I have done this with previous deals and wondering if it still works.

  • +1

Time for a steering wheel lock!

    • +1

Own a VF Commodore or a Toyota do we?

      • Haha yep. Just watched a video of some thieves stealing a Toyota 300 series by drilling a hole in door to get access to CAN bus

      • +6

It's funny how people are praising these now as better than digital keys. But simple hammers break them in seconds.

        https://youtube.com/shorts/G5TxfbDLXjg?si=oYt3zjNyO43MqjIp

It's always been the case and is the reason only people who fell for advertisements in the 90s bought them. (90s boomers)

Plus they're easy to see and once a crook knows it's there they'll bring the hammers.

If you have a Commodore, do the horn bypass so the alarm sound can't be disabled. This can't be seen until the door is opened and the alarm surprises the shit out of them.

And everyone with digital radio transmission keys should be using a good quality metal OBD2 port lock. Not completely secure but this also can't be seen until encountered and more than likely they won't have brought the tools to try to break or remove it.

Nothing is hackproof. But having several layers of defence can help prevent theft.

        • +1

I guess I see the wheel locks as a good visual deterrent.

Next layer might be a kill switch for fuel pump.

          • +1

@PlowKing: An extra layer. Sure. But definitely can't be relied on alone.

        • +1

One extra step for keyless Commodores: locking the BCM from generating new keys. A company in WA sells an OBD tool called OBDSync which programs the car to reject any requests to generate new keys. This basically nullifies the most common method for theft.

Mind there is the caveat you can only unlock the BCM via the same tool, and they require internet access to their cloud to authenticate before you can do any programming. So there is a risk the company goes under and you may be unable to unlock the BCM. IMO it’s a fair risk given the rate at which VFs are getting pinched.

        • +5

Back in the day I made a $5 'dicksmith' fuel pump relay 'kill switch'. Allows the fuel pump to run for 2 seconds.
Car starts, then dies. Repeat. Found my car half way out of a parking spot once. So worked….except Karen left me a note to learn how to park!

Next step was a cruise ship type air horn under the seat, with contacts for a large capacitor on the roof….which then triggers a nice sized capacitor around the bean bag region when they come back down to the seat.

        • Any recommendation for an OBD2 lock? Unfortunately none in this deal, but I see a few on Amazon

          • @fredblogs: I haven't used one myself none of my cars are good enough t be susceptible to to the hack 😅

Definitely do some research on YouTube and find one that's built well and would be hard to remove.

    • +1

Check out Ghost 2 or Igla. It’s the only thing really effective for now.

    • I grabbed this https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/stoplock-stoplock-pro-el… steering wheel lock two days ago, and just bought it again for a cheaper price using the $5 credit from my first order.
Heard good things about it. I’m also Ghost fitted.

      • That’s a smart visual deterrent!

  • +1

    Bought a battery yesterday: (

    • +3

If you haven't put it in the car. Return it and buy it again

      • +9

Or just buy a new one and return with the old receipt

        • -1

I'm the same but had mine fitted already…

          • +1

@Craze: So buy another and return it with the original receipt?

    • +2

You should charge yourself for being so negative.

      • Shocking to see a high energy positive comment…..Will see myself out now.

        • Oh, another start-stop fan, are you?

  • Is there an expiration on the price match once it was approved? Thinking of doing a price matching on an earlier time before 5pm as the chat ends at 6pm.

    • Usually midnight but unsure if this promo will stack with price match. They seem to apply a coupon code to your cart for the price match.

      • FWIW my price matched product doesn't have a coupon code in my cart.

      • Thanks. I tried price matching a car battery yesterday but when I tried to check out an hour later the price went back to normal price.
From previous thread, they said code stacks with price matching. Hopefully it will

        • My price match is still active in my cart 🤷‍♂️

      • +2

The code stacks with price matching. Bought a car battery. $450 down to $262 after price beat and 25% discount. Thanks OP

  • Noco jump starters looking tempting

  • +4

BTW stack with 10% off SCA gift cards at Reward Gateway

    • My employer left RG and now we’re with Perkbox. It’s 8% there which is still okay, but we seem to have dropped a a couple % off a lot of retailers.

      • I just bought at 8% through PerkBox

  • +1

Tried a few things didn't work.

    Oh, starts at 5pm.

  • do they sell the "Drain Pan with Extender 42113MI (12Ltr / 13 Qrt) Hopkins FloTool"???

    • there's no similar product on the market..

    • Where do you find this random shite for your car? I've been draining engine oil for decades and never required such a random useless device for diy work.

    • Guess you have to change a lot of oil to justify for a $120 drain pan.

But can see some value in having this, spilled oil while draining a couple of times, spent a lot of effort to clean up the pavers afterward.

      • reviews say it splashes everywhere with this product. not getting it

        • +1

Oh, that's no good, the whole point of the product is to prevent spilling.

          • +3

@browser: These prevent spilling, and make oil changes easy https://autobarn.com.au/ab/p/TO30615

            • +1

@frugalferret: Nice! Cars like Subaru with oil filter on top, there's no need to go under, and no jacks or ramps needed.

              Supercheap version: https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/pela-6.5l-cylindrical-va…

              • @browser: It seems the ones around $160 mark all come from the same factory with different stickers to represent different brands.

                Very tempted to get one.

And there's this one for half the price: https://www.vevor.com.au/fluid-evacuator-c_10350/vevor-fluid…

                • @browser: which one should i buy…. the 15L pneumatic one? i got a coupon…

                  • @ilove: 6.5L is enough for 1 oil change for most cars, unless it is for large trucks.

You can empty used oil into new containers, so don't really need a large extractor to store used oil.

Get the pneumatic one if you have an air compressor, or planning to get one. Otherwise the manual one would do.

I was back and forth on the Pela one from Supercheap but run out of time to buy a gift card. So will get the Vevor one instead, it's like the Harbor Freight of Australia.

Manual 6.5L is currently $64 on Amazon, similar price on Vevor website with 5% off, probably wouldn't get any cheaper.

                    • @browser: i haven't check but are all the hoses the same for the 15L and the 6.5L one? Or do you get more attachments with the 15L?

  • +1

    Will it include special orders?

    • same thoughts. hope we can get confirmation about your question.

      • +1

Yes it does include special orders, at least the ones I tested.

        • thanks mate

    • Yes. Ordered 2.

  • Just picked up Bosch wipers on the weekend… Already installed.

Not sure its worth the hassle of price matching A1 auto parts again, rebuying and returning lol

    • depends on the price diff, how far SCA is etc etc

    • Would they price match the before price at A1??

  • Snow chains? do they sell good ones?

    • Have a search on the SCA website mate, lots of results and reviews.

    • +1

I've been using the Autotecnica Premium one for about 4 seasons, with about 15+ days of actually fitting and driving with them on. I take care of my chains, clean and dry them each trip, and properly store them during summer. So no complaint from me.

Konig could be a better option for longevity because the chain is 12mm instead of 9mm with no self-tensioning. However, it could be a good thing because the self-tensioning mechanism of the Autotecnica will be the first point of failure.

    • Ended up getting from Amazon. Still quite pricey even with 25%

  • +2

Hell yeah. Price matched from another site before 5 and then got 25% off that amount.
Used G/C's on top (7%). Might still be possible?

    • Yeah can confirm that worked for me, nice.

      • Didn't know, could have tried to match Automotive Superstore.

  • +1

Might be time to splash out on a sunshade…

  • +1

Not a great deal. Was looking at lower control arms for a ASX and they were $17x.xx. found them on ebay, left and right, for $128.xx each, free shipping and a further 15% with DAD15. Buyer beware!

Some items went up in price. This tool chest has been on sale for $448 for a while until yesterday and now its back to RRP of $729. With a 25% discount it works out to be $546.75.

    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/toolpro-toolpro-tool-cab…

    • That was a catalogue sale item that ended on Sunday the 10th of August.

  • I picked up an otherwise fairly pricey Aerpro BA XR6 kit for approx $475, thank you.

  • Penrite Enviro+ C2 Engine Oil 0W-30 7 Litre, price matched before 5 + 25% off = $63.34

  • is anyone else not able to checkout? after submitting payment I get redirected back to cart with no order processed. I have tried credit card, paypal and giftcard.

    • A vague memory, but try changing store or removing an item that says "Low Stock"
I remember the same happening to me and one of those two methods fixed it for me.

      • just discoved the giftcard I used has had funds deducted but no oder confirmed, the giftcard didnt cover the whole amount so also use credit card, no funds deducted

EDIT: giftcard was brand new, purchased on shopback. Supercheap website confirmed on checkout page that the giftcard had funds. Buying again just on credit card worked, so now I will need to chase the giftcard funds which were removed.

  • Thanks, bought some towing mirrors that I needed to get for our car.

  • has anyone used radiator leak sealer? my 06 camry has a small leak ive to fill the radiator every few days and wondering if the sealer works even for short term

    • +1

I woudnt use radiator leak sealer, as it makes its way through your entire cooling system, including engine water galleries, leaving residue. Id personally remove and replace myself, with something brand new. Here is an option: https://www.onlineautoparts.com.au/product/zpn-36501-radiato…
Just take note of the filler neck. There are two different styles, so select model year that best suits!
