    45g sugar

    • +6

Came here to say this. Stay away from sugar content of more than 15g as much as you can. 45g is crazy.

    • +5

per 100g or 45%. I thought you were referring to per jar… That's just insane.

    • +1

Nutella has 56g of sugar per 100g. So relatively speaking, it has less sugar than this equivalent spread. But yes, it's still a lot of sugar.

    45% pistachios

    • +16

It's actually quite high for pistachio spreads. E.g. Pistachio Papi is only 16% pistachios

      • +3

Pistachio Papi is just overmarketed slop

    • +11

if you want %100 pistachios, you should buy pistachios.

      • -1

I want pistachio spread, not pistachio.
And doesn't have to be 100%.

        smh

Amazon used to stock these for $29 per jar, so based off that long standing price, this is a great deal if you have membership. I used these to make awesome pistachio gelato with a Ninja Creami

    • Care to share your creami recipe? :)

      • +2

I don't remember specifics but I basically just put in some dollops of the pistachio paste, full fat milk, tablespoon of cream and a scoop of white chocolate protein powder (Amino Z) (it's a thickening agent). It was amazing, I realise now it's not really a gelato but an ice-cream. I think I just used the gelato setting for some reason on the creami

    • Interested to try the recipe as well. It will be good if you can share it.

    • When I finally got around to wanting to try making pistachio ice cream Amazon no longer sold it as you say :(

Not that I would be game enough buying this much even if I had a Costo membership lol.

What's the deal with pistachio lately 🤔

I only eat them in nut form.

    • this is the breakfast of (italian) kings. Goes great inside a cornetto paired with a cappuccino

      • -1

It's amazing they can face the day with a breakfast like this, it would make me go back to sleep. Spanish are the same, I watched a very old man break half a packet of digestif biscuits into a bowl of warmed milk and then eat it with a spoon paired with a very decent glass of brandy. Legends.

        • If caffeine makes you want to sleepy, there's probably something else going on with you.

          • -1

@topherboi: Referring to the sugar. Caffeine hasn't really affected me in twenty years, but that's quite common loads of people drink it before bed.

Why is everyone after this all of a sudden?

    • +9

Pistachio nonsense went viral on social media

      • I was wondering what happened. We have been getting pistachio spread for years (not this brand), but this year it's been showing up in FB Marketplace and you can even get it at my local Coles.

Also can someone explain to me what the F is Dubai chocolate. I've been to Dubai International Airport dozen of times and all I remember is nuts, dates, cigarettes, gold. I don't recall associating Dubai with Chocolate, but I'm seeing all these local shops with signs "we have Dubai chocolate" and it's starting to bug me as IMO chocolate is a Swiss and Belgium thing.

        • +1

That's what went viral dude. Dubai chocolate is some chocolate with a pistachio filling. Following that, pistachio has been popping up in lots of things like the Costco pistachio cheesecake being a big deal.

        • +4

Chocolate should be a Ghana thing, I don't understand the need to send raw martials to cheap ass swiss and belgium. They don't produce shit.

          • -1

@Hunk: Yeah, those mobs already pinched everyone's gold and the naxi loot

  • Pistabella is the best. $12 at Coles.

    • +2

Unfortunately thats got way more oil than pistachio.

      • Yes, though nearly double Papi.

  • These were $15.99 a couple of months ago, no?
6x = $95.94, so price rise for the bulk sale?

Excellent for home-made icecream, but hopefully the individual jars haven't gone up in price too drastically? Can anyone confirm?

    • I think the difference is that this is 6 jars delivered whereas that price was single jars in store…

I’ve seen the individual packs in store for around the $15 mark.

May end up going past this weekend so if I can confirm I will.

      • Thanks! the individual jar price isnt showing up for a few locations ive checked anymore.

        • +1

I wasn’t able to find single jars at Epping anymore so they might not sell them individually anymore. Couldn’t see 6 packs either.

    • Can't buy it in individual jars in the Costco I went to recently Fwiw. I know they used to sell it in individual jars because I've bought it before.

      • GTK. Lake Macquarie Costco was the last one that I got individual one in - in May this year.

Please for the love of god, if you value your health, DO NOT BUY THIS

However, if you often eat Nutella, this is similar in both taste and sugar

    • +1

Is this basically like Nutella, but using pistachios instead of hazelnuts? (And 45% instead of 13%)

…feels like I am just looking for an excuse to buy Nutella.

      • Also doesn't have palm oil.. in saying that they also have a hazelnut spread and a choc cream spread.. all healthier than Nutella due to no palm oil but equally as unhealthy regarding everything else

      • Popped in to Costco Ardeer on the weekend. They only had "Hazelnut Spread" (45% hazelnuts) and "Chocolate Spread" (15% hazelnuts), didn't see any jars of the pistachio one

        • +1

          They are online only

  • +1

I imagine it would be fairly easy to make a similar spread yourself at home, but much healthier. To introduce my infant to various nuts I would blend them up and it made for a delicious paste (I’d end up eating the bulk). Just looking at the ingredients you could blend some pistachios, a lot less sugar, a little olive oil and some milk powder and you’d get a tastier, healthier version.

  • +5

Sugar cream spread with some pistachios thrown in would be a more apt product name.

Here's a simple and delicious homemade recipe for Pisti Pistachio Cream Spread that you can easily make at home. This creamy, nutty spread is perfect for toast, pancakes, or even as a dessert topping!

    Homemade Pisti Pistachio Cream Spread

    Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 5 mins (optional for roasting)
    Total Time: 15 mins
    Yield: About 1 cup

    Ingredients:
    • 1 cup (150g) raw or roasted unsalted pistachios (shelled)
    • 2-3 tbsp powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
    • 1-2 tbsp neutral oil (like sunflower, grapeseed, or light olive oil)
    • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
    • Pinch of salt (optional, enhances flavor)
    • 1-2 tbsp milk or water (as needed for consistency)
    Instructions:
    1. Prepare Pistachios:

      • If using raw pistachios, lightly toast them in a dry pan over low heat for 3-4 minutes until fragrant (optional but enhances flavor).
      • Let them cool slightly.

    2. Blend Pistachios:

      • Add pistachios to a food processor or high-powered blender.
      • Blend until they turn into a fine powder (about 1-2 minutes).

    3. Add Sweetener & Oil:

      • Add powdered sugar, oil, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
      • Continue blending until the mixture becomes a thick, smooth paste (scrape down sides as needed).

    4. Adjust Consistency:

      • If the mixture is too thick, add 1 tbsp milk or water and blend again until creamy.
      • For a sweeter taste, add more powdered sugar.

    5. Store & Serve:

      • Transfer to a clean jar and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
      • Enjoy on toast, croissants, or as a dip for fruits!

    Tips:
    • For extra richness, add 1 tbsp cocoa powder for a chocolate-pistachio version.
    • If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine sieve.
    • Roasted pistachios give a deeper flavor, but raw works too.

Let me know if you'd like any modifications! 😊🌿

    • What kind of modifications?

What a terrible time to be social and communicating on the internet. Half the comments are from AI, and the other quarter are from real people using AI.

      • You could add more milk or olive oil. It came out quich thick and chunky, apparently the stabiser is the ingredient that makes it smooth.

A bit kf effort but you knkw what the ingredients are.

  • the hype is gone. selling in bulk now.
i bought 2 jar during the hype. its ok, more watery then the original. pistachio papi is better.

    • +2

Top 2 ingredients palm oil and sugar. Might aswell be nutella.

  • +2

More like sugar with pistachio flavour

  • Ive only tried their hazelnut as the pistachio was oos when I doordashed, actually also good.

  • Ok I’ve been buying these regularly in bulk from Costco in Newcastle as u have a Dubai chocolate business, until they vanished from Costco. They tasted amazing!!!!!! Could eat with a spoon! BUT the new batch is now all changed and bitter. It’s so bad I can’t use it, I’m trialling mixing different brands to keep the quality of my product the same and ration of pistachios high as well. I’m all about pistachios since I’ve started making these bars and other things but this thing now tastes terrible!

    • Dude, cool. Did you make chocolate products before getting into the Dubai $craze? Do you have a commercial kitchen but at home? Small business intrigues me.

      • +1

I did cakes and stuff before the chocolates which I still do. Still quite small scale. I have a part time job too to pay my mortgage.

        • +1

          Awesome. Well, keep on truckin

  • Pistachio 45%

    No.

  • +1

Yeah this is pistachio nutella! I liked it. But I was a bit sick of it after 75% of the jar. Says to eat within 2 or 3 months on jar… I tried but threw the last quarter out to save myself from Diabetes.

Price to quality, Noya is the better option, and made in Australia as well! Especially when you buy 1kg jar. Try it yourself once, and you would be surprised how good it is.

      • +1

I initially scoffed at the price of the 1kg jar before realising how expensive shelled pistachios are. It's actually pretty decent value!
