AU$ based on current Mastercard rate at time of posting.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

*Set the website currency to USD
*Checkout with PayPal
*Select your card with no international fees
*Click "See currency options"
*Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
*Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA

  • The dual headphone output will come in handy. I've had some success with Voicemeeter Banana software (free version) but it's hit and miss.

    • whats voicemeter bannana ? does this have an android/ios app? can only see windows?

also why not let the device handle mixing?

      • Yeah I think it's Windows only. One feature is that it allows outputting to 2 bluetooth devices at the same time.

I used it on Windows laptop while travelling so 2 people can watch a movie with bluetooth headphones. It sometimes wouldn't work, and it also had compatibility issues with certain headphone combinations, so I'm hoping this one works seamlessly.

        • I thought that would be more a compativbility thing with the bluetooth chipset on the windows laptop.

but interesting, may need to take a look anyway..

Depending on what you're trying to adapt, this format might be more useful because it can be powered constantly: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B081GGB53R

Good for adding bluetooth to a car that doesn't have it.

    • I guess handing for a car , I personally was looking for airplane use.
      but good shout.

      • Yeah only mentioning because I've been in so many cars where people are using an adapter that you have to charge hah

        • I've only seen the ones in cars with the cigerette plug thats built in.

  • I think we've established that "Ca-Caw Ca-Caw" and "Tookie Tookie" don't work

  • This vs airfly pro?

Think the Lendaway might be a better buy for $24

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0D25JTVXR?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_f…

    Supports: SBC, aptX, aptX-LL, aptX-HD and aptX-AD

Better codec support for watching video with low latency.

Admittedly 15 hours battery life isn't the best but it can be charged while being used so shouldn't be much of a hassle to plug it in use it and charge it as well from the back of the plane seat.

    • I found this one on Aliexpress bundle sales for USD$6.47 + tax: https://imgur.com/a/F0ZA8CF

I can't link to it as it's a bundle deal but it's there if you search ZF-361.

It might not have the same aptX codec support but it might too.

  • The whole bluetooth on planes thing is strange.

Usually CASA are epic level nazi's, and they explicitly list you cant use a transmitter on a flight, but this isnt enforced.

    Just interesting is all.

    • Soup nazi, but usually they care more about battery banks though recently.

    • +1

Used to be. Of course now they have inflight wifi more often than not, so I think the whole "scary radio waves" thing isn't a thing any more.

Still a good idea to turn on airplane mode just so your phone doesn't waste battery trying to connect to a cell tower though.

  • Would this be suitable to plug in to a TV and use Bluetooth headphones?

    • +1

I would expect the audio to be out of sync.

Better off getting the device I linked to above and pairing it with headphones that support aptX-LL or at the very least one of the other variants of aptX codec.
