When Team Cherry decides to take their time working on the game instead of releasing it in a rush… You know it's gonna be good.

  • Hopefully Hollow Knight goes on sale soon. Played it on xbox for an hour, it was fun but for me I would prefer it on steam.

    • yeah I can only play these kind of games hand held and steamdeck + xbox pass feels very laggy

      • maybe save for a ROG Xbox Ally X coming in October

        • its cheaper to just buy it on steam :)

    • +5

I mean, it's genuinely cheap even at full price, given the amount of good content in it.

If you found the 1st hour fun, it's a great game for you. it takes 3 hours for the game to realise its potential, after you unlock wall jump.

The game is well worth $20.

I remember getting it on humble and being like, damn this game feels like it was worth more than the money I paid for it ahah

Can't wait to sink my teeth into this! Spent so much time on Hollow Knight

  • this is great, i didnt realise it was coming out on game pass. cant wait.

Silk song coming out might be the best deal I found all year lol.

  • +1

Too bad there is no physical copy at launch. And I really don't want to pay twice.

    • Is this confirmed, no Switch 1/2 or PS5 physical copies?

  • I can't imagine the deal XBOX signed with them to forego so many sales. Imagine all the people just collecting this on game pass rather than buying it outright.

    • +1

I doubt they mind too much, the devs are already absolutely rolling in cash

    • +1

The price is supposedly 25 US bucks, and most sales of the first game were on PC and Switch, many on discount for 50 or 60% off. The Silksong gp deal was signed a few years ago (they announced it at E3 2022).

Some GP deals are based on an up front price, others vary based on usage metrics. Hard to say but it might not be as much as you think. It's not like what you'd need to pay for a big budget AAA game.

  • I have 200 hours in hollow knight. So I’d buy silk song rather than renting on Gamepass. Probably gog

I know Hollow Knight has a lot of dedicated fans. I so badly wanted to like it as I love From Software and the Metroid and Castlevania games. The thing that broke the game for me was how the game went out of its way to gate quality of life like a map or map markers behind a grinding. I am praying that they have made some concessions in Silk Song
