Original Coupon Deal

Been keeping track of the price of these, I think it’s finally cheaper now compared to the past few AliExpress events.

Getting this to replace my busted Gerber Dime as a smallish EDC. Read good things about the funky gear “compound” leverage pliers and the convenience of having a 1/4 inch bit driver (I’m looking to pair this with my 711L mini Ratchet), thought I’d give it a shot.

Found this via my Coin Discount Finder, so you might want to check yours in case you can get better discount!

Update: Two weeks on my powerpint is still held in customs with tracking still saying "package contains restricted items". I haven't received anything in the mail from customs explaining why its been held.. my best guess is something to do with the law about importing knives that can be opened with one hand (?) I would hope that anyone who purchases one wont have it seized like I have…

Yeah i have an $700 knife sitting in customs waiting for clearance for over 2 weeks also. So does yours say on the AusPost website tracking it contains restricted items?

Any update on yours mate? Mine just cleared customs as of today, hopefully it will arrive soon.

Ordered two on 27 August and both have cleared customs and with the courier.

      • Any update on yours? Got mine from the recent sale, I’m wondering what’s the go with yours now. And this is not the first time I’ve purchased a multi tool from overseas too..

        • Mine came from amazon international instead after i gave up on the one stuck in customs from Ali. Sadly almost double the price

      • I received mine from this offer several days ago; no issues with customs but it was cleanly cut at the bottom enough for the tool to be able to be removed, so they probably inspected it.

        • Last time one of my parcels got inspected they included a note that stated it had been opened for inspection. Although that was over 5 years ago.

Omg the mini ratchet is adorable!

Actually very usable in real life! I keep an extension bit to make it easier to handle.

      • Which extension bit do you have for it?

        • At the moment just some random extension from cheap bit kit nothing special. Tried locking extension from dewalt but it’s too bulky.

Is this the chosen tool of TRS officials to open Apple product packaging?

  • doesnt look like much different to the avg. gerber whatever

whats the reason it was banned

I have many tools. I have a proper tool for almost every task I do. Yes I like tools. I have a few Leatherman multitool and carried them for a number of years. I bought them because they are cool. However the most I have used is the pliers and occasionally the knife to cut zip ties and wire insulation. The screwdriver is a pain to use because of the awkward grip that prevent fastening quickly. The bits are too short to reach deeply recessed screws. For me, multitools are more of less tools that can help when you know what you are facing rather than in an unplanned emergency. So I prefer carrying my little tool bag that has all the standard tools that I use.

So which multitool do you carry and tell us all the cool stories that a multitool has get you out of trouble.

I have a Victorinox rescue tool. I work in rescue. I'm not going to be using the glass cutter on it because we have a glass saw in our glass kit already. I don't want tiny shards in my multi tool. But the other tools are damn good and it stays so sharp.

On my wishlist next is a leatherman raptor when I finish my paramedicine degree and hopefully get a nextool w4 before that because that shifter would be so handy on fixing our ambulance equipment when out on jobs

  • Watch out, there is some loon on this forum who will insist that you'll be arrested for carrying something with a blade on it.

  • Anyone know if these are real? I bought a SOG knife from AliExpress a while back, and it was fake, just a PSA. If it is fake, I would rather buy a real Ganzo.

    • Don’t know about this particular batch, but I have seen some video reviews in the past that said the SOG multi tools they had purchased from Ali were real.

  • I carry this unit with me everywhere.

Can't complain, can do a hell of a lot with this unit and then some.
Did have a swisstech although someone wanted it more then me when I left it on my desk at work.

The OP linked multitool sounds ok but a review has 1 jaw snapping off. Doesn't look good but yeah, is go a Swiss tech again.

The scissors on mine are the worst ever which was disappointing. Pliers good. I probably use my nextool mini flagship or leatherman wave alot more

    • +1

I read a review that changed how I use the scissors - the blades are aligned to be used left-handed, not right! Using it with my right hand means I'm actually slightly pushing the blades apart while cutting.

  • Code not working for me
"For security reasons your request can't currently be processed"

  • Less than half retail price. Probs fake.

    • Amazon US, shipped and sold by Amazon not third party, has had them at similar price a few times.

  • Ordered, here's hoping it's genuine and I don't need to go through refund

    • How can you tell?

      • I was hoping you'd tell me

        • Ordered two for the kids, arrived last night. It's no Leatherman but not atrocious quality for $40, won't be returning.

One side is a bit tight but will oil and see how it goes after a couple of weeks.

          • @OzBragain: Got mine too. I feel that my Gerber is not as good as these SOG, actually a decent replacement.
Tried to claim warranty on my Gerber, cricket noise. If I’m not getting a good after sales from big brand, may as well go with Chinese ones..
