  • Thanks Clear

    • does this come with the option of a entire computer attached to this cpu? :D

  • Super thanks for this deal, I managed to snag it for $205.69 AUD just by using your codes and paying in USD. Edit: I believe the extra $10 was from Aliexpress credit due a previous purchase through team OzBargain, ripper!

  • What would be a good value Mobo to complement this chip?

    • +1

B650m gaming wifi is what I've been running ~$150 at pccasegear and scorptec

Totally stable with my PBO overclock and undervolt, which gets it close to x3d performance in 1440p gaming (these settings https://youtube.com/shorts/sMp-P37HID0?si=zfXDJxr4eiyayJHy)

      • TBH i haven't had great experiences with gigabyte/msi products but will check it out! Cheers

      https://www.umart.com.au/product/asus-tuf-gaming-b650m-e-wif…

This is a great value board for under $200, otherwise if you want ITX and a bit of an adventure, the Jginyue B650i Night Devil from Aliexpress is worth a look (and will attract the same Team OzB Cashback + Shopback Cashback)

would Maxsun b850m dark terminator at $210 be a good option?

        • +1

Where are you finding that price? Good deal at $210, includes 3 M.2 slots as opposed to the ASUS' 2. But Maxsun not as well-known a brand as ASUS (not something that would concern me tbh).

          • +1

@xyron: You know, those "well known" brands don't really mean anything to me now. Tons of horror stories out there from every one of them, so going Maxsun is not an issue, and it has three m.2 slots which is what I'm after. Cheers boys

            • +1

@Steakz: Yes, and Maxsun isn't exactly a small player in the market either. Just not that well known in the West. I would happily run that in my rig for $200 (where are you getting it from???)

              • @xyron: @xyron I have looked around but cant find it, was hoping @silverwalker would share a link with us.

                • +1

@Steakz: the fact he's disappeared would suggest to me it's a second hand deal he's found.

        • Could you provide a link please? I'm having trouble locating it.

          • +1

@Steakz: I m thinking to get it overseat through Taobao. The current b850m dark terminator is selling at ¥980 CNY, the exchange rate to AUD is about $210, hope that helps

      • That Asus mobo looks good, but only two m.2 slots, same as the Jginyue, both would have been solid choices.
My apologies, i have 2 requirements, three m.2 slots and min 10+ power stages with solid VRM sinks. It wont let me edit the original post ><

    • +1

I am happy with my Asus B650M-E, as mentioned previously I think the PCIe x16 slot supports PCIe 5.0. I swapped my Wifi card from the shitty Mediatek that the board came with to an Intel AX210.

      • yeah sorry, it didn't let me edit the original post, i have mentioned couple of requirements in a reply. (three m.2 slots and min 10+ power stages with solid VRM sinks)
        Cheers mate

  • This or the 7800x3d?

    • +2

This, unless you play competitively at 1080p or have a top-end GPU (5090)

      • There are a range of applications where the 7800x3d is going absolutely cream this, like flight sims, VR of any description, etc. 5090, 3080, whatever.

    • +1

      Depends what games you play

      • Nothing too crazy, but will probably be going into GTA 6 and Borderlands 4. Will also be grabbing a 9060 XT 16GB GPU. @Robbed

        • +1

Go the 7700 then, not worth the $200 extra for the X3D for your use case.

The X3D chips are more beneficial to those who chase the highest frames in competitive games & those who play heavy cpu games (like grand strategy games, some simulators, etc)

          • @tries: I do also boot up CK3 from time to time, but unsure if it's worth spending an extra $200 just for that.

            • +1

@sintakz: It would make 5 speed much faster, but outside of that, the 7700 will give you the same experience. Depends if you think it's worth it, but I'm guessing no

              • @tries: Thanks! Purchasing :)

                • +1

@sintakz: The 7700 will serve you well, I have mine paired with a 9070 xt and they're really well balanced

          • @tries: Please stop parroting half the story.

There are a range of applications where the 7800x3d is going absolutely cream like flight sims, VR of any description, etc. Not just "some sims", all top end sims.

            • +1

@Ademos: I don't think I misrepresented anything, for most people the X3D chips will bring minimal gains - of course as you have said in heavy calculative games and applications where L3 cache shines there are major benefits, but for most games you're most likely going to be GPU bound, it's not like the 7700 is a slouch.

If you have the money go for the X3D, but this is ozbargain, value for dollar the 7700 wins out by far.

            • @Ademos: Furthermore, my advice has been based on sintakz responses.

Why do you think my first comment said it depends on the games one plays?

Sintakz further mentioned they are planning to get a 9060 XT, meaning your other comment which mentioned 3080, 5090 is not related to them. The 9060 XT is a mid range gpu which for most applications will be the bottleneck before the cpu.

  • Great CPU for itx build as it generates low heat for those tight cases with little airflow space. I have this with an A620 itx mobo and temps are good.

My favourite Ryzen 7700 is the AMD one

  • The first review:

"The seller is an (profanity), delayed the shipment for 10 days, and in the end, the shipment was canceled. A week of negotiations for a refund and communication with support, the seller doesn't respond, don't order anything from him!"

    • +4

Yeah that customer is from Ukraine. Is it really surprising that sending packages to that country may be an issue?

  • +4

code AMDRYZEN7700 does not work for me. Sorry, another shopper just collected these coupon codes. However, you can still enjoy other great deals on AliExpress.

    • same question

  • I don't suppose there's any chance of 8700G deals coming up as new APUs are planned?

  • anyone else only see $178.12 USD ?

    • Yep, price has gone back up and coupon codes no longer work

  • Looks like the deals over.. :) missed it

  • How to join Team OzBargaibn on Aliexpress ?
There is no 'join' link !

Also, any way to attribute your purchase to Team Ozbargain after you've placed order ?

  • +2

    Bugger missed it again

  • +1

Just curious how did you find the code "amdryzen7700"?

    • +1

      I asked for a deal.

  • +1

    Insane good value.

  • +1

That's an awesome deal, how frequently do these types of deals come by the way?

    • +1

Every 1-2 months I think, looking at ozbargain history

      • +1

        Yeah seems about right, thanks

  • Keen for Ryzen 5 AM5 for the next one!

  • The reason people are keen on the Ryzen 7 7700 is that it offers a significant performance improvement over most Ryzen 5 offerings at virtually the same price.

If you doubt that compare the CPU Passmark benchmarks e.g. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?id=5169&cpu=AMD+Ryzen+7…

It appears that enough 7700's have made it onto the second hand market to sell for a decent price… but few Ryzen 5's are in the same position.

    :-)

  • +3

Hopefully we get another special in the not too distant future. 7700 is such a good CPU for the price.

    • +1

Yeah, hoping for one because need to build a new system. Heres hoping clear sees this!
