Which nbn ISP for the 500/50 Speed Upgrade?

Hi all.

I'm looking for a new ISP and not too sure what the new speed upgrade means for me. Currently on a 50/20 plan and looking for a 100/20 upgrade. However, I'm aware that's ISP are upgrading their 100/20 to 500/50 at the end of September.

Are these plans more expensive?

Do you think there will be a sale around then to try to get new customers?

What are OzB's favourite ISPs for value and stability?

Thanks in advance.

  • 500/50 for $50/month for 6 months will be hard to beat.

    • Good deal but caution as they are a new player. Read the comments and decide for yourself

      • Signed up already, connected next day, and working fine. Will jump ship when/if it stops doing so.

Or you could go for southern phone 100/20 for $65.00 a month for twelve months upgrading in September ⁉️

Before you change, do you have FTTP ( fibre ) already installed? If not you should find a good 100/20 plan and ask for free upgrade. Then you could go all the way to 2Gb in the future. Hope this helps.

I know they aren't the cheapest but I've been with Aussie Broadband for years and am very happy with their service.

OzBargain has a poll on Best NBN Provider for 2025 and currently Leaptel is in front. They have already been offering 500/50 for FTTP / HFC users for about a month now.
