  • Any good?

  • +2

How fast can these charge from the grid?

      • +8

It'll be longer than that. It's only a 5kw inverter, which realistically won't do more than about 4.7kw into the batteries. If it's 27.5kWh usable, that's about 6 hours to fully charge.

      • +1

        Math fail.

  • Single phase only

    • Yes..

My post from the last time this was posted.

"doesn't seem anywhere near as good as the NSW/SA/QLD one:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/915675

    30kWh VoltX Neovolt Battery & 5kW Inverter $5920 Installed

and they offer even bigger upgrades. there was a 50KW one too if you search though the comments.

    ahh found the comment:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16736788/redir
    OFFER 1

Single-phase VoltX Neovolt 50kWh system (5 batteries, a 5kW inverter and standard installation in metro areas)
PLUS backup functionality (worth $600, and for 2 circuits).
    $6,700 INCLUDING backup functionality.
    OFFER 2

Single-phase VoltX Neovolt 50kWh system (5 batteries, a 5kW inverter and standard installation in metro areas)
    $6,300

are you able to advise the difference, and sell this deal as well?"

Seems this is still 600 more… Seems the above is cheaper and 50kw!

I mean we can't get the other one so no neg… But still…

  • I think and have seen others ads and they way cheaper than this.

  • I’m in need for a battery or two. Not looking to spend too much. My monthly bill is $200. PW3 is around $14/15k which I don’t want to fork out. I’ve 5kW fronius primo with 5.7kW panels.
What would you guys recommend? I would prefer trusted brands.

    • We'd recommend BYD batteries that are most compatible with Fronius inverters.

      • -2

Can you quote me BYD and PW3?

  • Long cycle life: 6000 cycles and 10-year expected battery life at 60% state of health

wow, my LG apart from apparently good.for.exploding, warranties 90% after 10yrs.

    • You may want to double check that, LG only warranty 60% at the end of 10 years. Not even Tesla would warranty more than 70% even with unlimited cycle during 10 years.

  • +3

These offers need to offer a 10kW inverter option.

    • +1

      Yep, no deal 🙅‍♂️

      • Why, do you guys use 10kw at any given time?

        • EV charging

        • +1

also piece of mind when you have heating going, electric stove on, and someone using hair dryer, 5kw doesnt go very far…

          • @Aznmadness: You can still do all of those things with the 5KW inverter - the excess over 5KW will just come from the grid (or from your Solar if the sun is out). For things like hair dryers and kettles that put you over the limit for just a few minutes, this is absolutely fine.

If you have gas heating and gas hot water, for example, then the 5KW inverter will generally be ok. If you're fully electric, then it's definately worth paying more for a larger inverter.

  • Pretty good deal. Quoted by other installer for $8k for 30kW Hiconics in NSW includes fire protection sheet, smoke alarm, blackout circuit and 2 bollards.

  • Really wondering how good/pad people think these are. Is it that the tech is finally that cheap, or are these just no good? Poor software maybe?

    • There is nothing cheap about these , total bill is 20k, government just pays the rest , these guys are making a killing right now on batteries , let's hope we don't see houses burn down like pink bats scheme

      • I mean, I have several quotes, any battery decent around 25kWh costs around 15k after rebate. This one is nearly 10k less!

Rebate on a 30kWh battery is around 9k

  • +5

Got a quote for 40kw hiconics last week and it’s only 5500 after rebates for single storey single phase (in vic)

    • Which installer did you get this quote from? Would love to know more about this deal.

    • For a new battery? The quote is unbelievable.

    • There has not been any communication on Hiconics developing a 40kWh battery. Maximum available is 30kWh.

  • +1

Can you add more batteries down the track if you have already used the battery rebate (NSW)?

    • +1

The Federal Government Cheaper Home Batteries Program allows only one rebate application per property. So, the rebate can't be claimed more than once.

  • Really interested but have 3 phase (12.83kW enphase micro inverters)

    any recommendations?

  • Got $5.5k quote for neovolt 28.8kwh if anyone interested.

    • Sounds like a great deal. Are you able to share the details of the provider?

      • +2

        Delight Solar 0490 728 316
They charge extra $300 for 3 phase also.

        I'm chasing 40kwh $5.5k deal atm
Solis + dyness G2 but TBC

        • +2

          Update: NSW only :(
