Flooring for a House - Please Suggest Good and Reliable Hybrid Brands

Was at Bunnings looking at hybrid flooring, labels say waterproof. Reviews suggest Bunnings hybrid flooring are crap.

Have been searching the internet and found various brands but not many reviews. Please suggest a good and reliable brand.

Thank you.

no such thing, all come from same/similar factory in china. just select and pick ones with good price and specs that you want. Most important is a seller that is large enough (won't go out of business in next 10 years) that you can claim warranty if something goes wrong.

I put this through my house 5 years ago, including in kitchen (it was recommended by my builder) and it still looks like new. Before, I soaked a piece in water for 3 days to test and it had no impact

My mother put in the cheapest laminate she could get 2 years and it looks terrible already and is already scratched and cupping

I disagree that they are all the same

    • Hybrids are not laminate, get your facts right.

      • Sorry Sir, I apologise for offending you.
Whilst technically incorrect, I have found that many people use hybrid as a generic term for any artificial flooring

I recently installed 5 room with this product myself. Would highly recommend it and it on clearance at harvey normal.

If your planning to install yourself it best to look at the product and check the tongue and groove for chips/cracks. Cheaper brand will fall apart at the edges. When cutting these boards, it will make the job much harder to cut.

  • I have quick step flooring at home, it’s nice

    • I heard about this brand. How durable is it?

      • It’s been good, had a dishwasher leak out a few times and it was fine

If you are in Melbourne take a visit to https://westerndistributors.com.au/

    • +1. My flooring is from their store and it’s been great for four years now. I’ve heard a friend used National Tiles and is happy with theirs, apparently 10 year guarantee is given too. DYOR.

      • I bought my carpet from them, was on sale and it’s held up for the last 11 years. The installer they recommended was top notch as well.

  • Nothing like that clickity clank sound as you walk around on floating floorboards

I wish people would stop renovating houses using hybrid flooring. It's literally plastic with a bit of filler in it. 90% of them look horrible, and a few look passable. I can't remember the number of houses I did not inspect because the flooring looked horrible.

    • Was waiting for someone to say this because I have the same sentiments. I made the mistake of renovating a number of rooms with hybrid only 3 years ago and now regret it. They scratch very easily, they warp, are not waterproof despite the claims, and they feel cheap (making a clicky-clack noise when walked on).
