The new prices are in. Launtel is a premium RSP so there may be cheaper options come next week. Make sure your network infrastructure can handle the new bandwidth.
Launtel charge per day and you can change speeds daily if you want.

Who hurt you?
Trash isn’t fast.
Lol what?
You tell ‘em love!
Not fast enough
Switzerland have 25Gbps symmetrical for around $120AUD…
I’d pay double for that
You could try using a Swiss VPN, but I think there's holes in that plan.
I would be fondue of doing that…
@jv: Arghhh, those fondues are good. Forgot the alcohols they gave us to make it "sit" better in the belly. But it was nice.
I don't think the Swiss would like to camembert our internet here
$180 per month for speed that most ppl won't even notice don't seem like a good deal. Unless you are affiliated and providing a deal on this - not a good post.
It's like me posting the new apple iphone 17 pro max and saying that is the cheapest on offer at full MSRP. Doesn't make sense.
No, your comment doesn’t make sense. You state that it’s not a deal because most people won’t use the data? Then you make some comment about an iPhone?
I don’t know about pricing for this type of speed, but if Bruceflix is right by saying it’s the cheapest 2gb deal, then absolutely it’s a bargain, whether or not people use the data or not.
Also, if the new iPhone 17 PM was cheaper than other iPhone 17 models, absolutely it’s a deal. Most people wouldn’t use the features it has, doesn’t stop that from being a deal!
@BatmanAU: Is it a good deal if you buy a box of 48 donuts for the cheapest ever price for that size box, but you only eat a few because you only ever eat a few and then you let the rest go stale and throw them out? "Doesn't seem like a good deal" to me.
“640K (kB RAM) ought to be enough for anybody.”
Do you go onto all deals and say no one needs to buy them?
"You don't need shampoo, just use water!"
"Why buy a power bank, just use your phone less"
"Who needs more eneloops, you're not even using the ones you have"
Agreed, not a great deal and daily pricing makes it even worse.
That's a slippery slope I'll avoid thanks.
lets not pretend that everything is NOW more expensive at Launtel.
This is a fantastic second ISP that costs $0 when not in use. You can switch it on for one day only if you need to download 100+GB of data or upload 50GB+. For the rest of the days, just use the cheapest 50/20 ISP.
you cannot do this if you upgrade to 2000mbps because they will just provide you with 1 port ntd
I have 4 ports, but only use 2 of them. I've been using it this way for years.
He means you need a new ntd for 2gbps+ speeds installed
New Network Termination Device (NTD) for FTTP and HFC
NBN Co is introducing a new Network Termination Device (NTD) for FTTP and HFC connections. It means more stable performance, better compatibility with high-speed routers, and easier management of multiple services.
Residential consumers will get new single port NTD and business users will get four ports NTD.
@seanbaussie: Ah that sucks I always thought it was cool having spare ports available, and used it on occasion overlapping services by about a day when I was switching plans.
Eh? You mean for multi service's I think old mate is referring to Scaling their single connection from 50 -> 2000 and down again
You can pay for a 4 port I believe
'#CrankIT' isn't what I thought it meant.
What it costs to #CrankIT with us
you can #CrankIT on the big nights
Life’s not a sprint at 2Gbps… but it’s fun knowing you can #CrankIT when you want.
They know exactly what they're doing.
Great option for holiday homes or air bnb, to be able to offer super high speed internet but only have to pay for the days its occupied.
$6 * 30 = 180 ?! do the math!
You dont pay for the month, you pay for the day, so you can have it for 1 or two days or whatever you want
How will you check Ozbargain every day?
NBN Accelerate Great - 2Gb!
Hey everyone! September 14th is quickly approaching with nbn's 2Gb services and speed tier uplifts, so here's how all that will play out. On September 13th from 9PM, nbn will go into "maintenance mode" where orders be queued. The maintenance mode will be lifted on September 14th at 11AM, where nbn will start processing orders for all Internet providers countrywide.
Consequently, we expect that there will be up-to-48-hour order delays from the 14th onwards while nbn process their queue backlog.
What does this mean for you?
Any new connections, pauses, unpauses and speed modifications will not be actioned by nbn until the 14th of September. Please be mindful of any changes you make from Friday the 12th as there may be delays over the weekend, and again, we expect there will be delays from the 14th.
Should your order require an appointment, we'll contact you and organise that with you as soon as possible.
I wonder what's the cost or minimum term to get the 10GbE NTD. Comments above say it needs to be a business plan? Probably gonna need more info on this.
2000/500 connection, multiple FTTP connections, or $100.
This is broad daylight robbery
I have a OzBargain hack but I'm waiting until December to try it, I don't want to get a lemon new NTD for FTTP or anything.
Hopefully they offer a free 7 day trial.
If you are talking about the 4 Port 2.5GB new NBN ntd, yes you will get it for $100 on residential plans, $0 on business plans
But what if I have 2 services that exceed the ~1.2Gb bandwidth limit of the old FTTP NTD… Hence me waiting until December, but thanks for the neg.
Why can't we just get decent prices on 1000/400?
I'd be happy just to be able to get 1000/400 without having to pay $18k to upgrade from HFC to FTTP
Waiting to see prices for 1000/400 instead
nbn FTTP 1000/400.
$5.50/day (was $6.40/day), about $165/month @ Launtel.
$150/month ongoing @ Aussie BB.
$135/month for 12 months ($145/month ongoing) @ Leaptel.
$135/month for 12 months ($145/month ongoing) @ Leaptel.
That's not a bad deal currently but they get uppity if you use more than 2TB of data a month. Just don't need those kind of headaches when getting an unlimited connection.
My experience is obviously very different to yours… I'm at least 5TB a month, with the last few being over 10TB, and never had an issue with them.
How long ago was this 2TB problem?
Was that 2TB of linux ISOs?
$130/month with static IP for 6 months @ Superloop
Superloop wants an ABN.
Launtel, Leaptel and Aussie BB don't ask for an ABN.
Leaptel and Aussie BB include a Static IP.
$135/month for 12 months ($145/month ongoing) @ Leaptel.

Not with them right now but one of the best internet providers out there
$300 for a new 4-port ntd?
I think it is $110 unless you sign up to 2000/500
According to Launtel’s FAQ
Are there any costs associated with the upgrade?
To get the 2Gb NTD upgrade, there are no costs. If you are after a specific model, as in the 1 Port NTD or the 4 Port, there may be a $300 charge for the specific model you’re after. If you have questions about this, please contact us and we can go over it.
This doesn't seem like a deal unless this is an introductory or otherwise discounted price from Launtel.
Good to know, though. I use Launtel and was wondering what they would do when the speed bump kicked in. But you'd need an NBN technician visit to install the new NTD, right?
Answering my own question with details on their page:
Will I need to get anything new installed?
nbn® will need to upgrade your internal Fibre box (NTD) in order to ensure you’re able to receive the higher speeds. We’ll book the appointment and handle the comms, so you don’t have to.
At least put the monthly prices in the post for comparison as this is what all other companies bill at
Most other places lock that monthly cost whereas this you could run at the 1000/50 plan during the week, and crank it during the weekend so its variable.
Pretty unique idea, i like having the option. You can even do odd ones like 250/100 , things like that would be great if you need to kick off a mass backup to the cloud etc
They don't have monthly prices. Or would you like me to do the math for 28-day, 29-day, 30-day, and 31-day months?
Will need to make sure you upgrade to cat 6 as cat 5 is 1000mbs max.
