iHerb is dead to me until they resume shipping melatonin to Aus

    • -1

I literally got it last week..
Edit- Was delivered Sep 1. Lucky me I guess haha

We’ve been told this is due to the increased risk of potential overdose from mela gummies, and unfortunately the tablets have been swept up in this ban too. Unfortunately retailers that do still have stock are unable to list them online for anyone to buy, and will be limited to in store only :(

I used to buy the Life Extension brand melatonin from iHerb. I'm going to try buying from this Fiji-based distributor next. They have a whole range here. Shipping is $22.50 so you'd probably want to buy a few at a go.

I tried 3mg, 1mg, 750mcg, and 300mcg. I found 300mcg works fine for me with no sleepy effects in the morning so that's all I get now.

They also have a combination fast release/slow release tablet that's meant to help you go to sleep quicker and stay asleep. Not sure how much better it is than normal slow release.

Just found out iHerb no longer selling and shipping Melatonin (for sleeping) to Australia, probably due to abuse by previous buyers.

Where is the definition of "eligible" Westpac cards? It's not in on SB for this deal and searching for Westpac on SB comes back with nothing.

    • +1

A Westpac card, tied to your SB account = eligible is my undertaking

      • Yeah but where I can go to screenshot that so I can hold them to it?

  • +5

    Gimme my melatonin

  • Where can I get melatonin besides chemist for $1 a tablet

    • +3

      Biovea

        Thanks $120.25, for 4 x 90, 5mg Natrol Melatonin. Cheap as for 360 gummies. + 3% cashback at shopback

        • "Natrol" are they trying to bypass Natural with that spelling?

  • +1

Thanks. Needed to stockup on a few things

    Is autoship&save eligible for Cashback?
    Thanks!

Any idea when Melatonin might return? I was hoping the uproar would help them lift it.

  • Just letting you guys know, I made a purchase and used coupon code 29SPORTS and cashback tracked successfully with the coupon code, which was not listed on the Shopback website. :)

    • +1

I saw that but I feel like cash back will be declined

    • +1

Cashback tracks bevause it detects you made a purchase. Once they receive the reconciliation data, it will be noted you used a code and probably r4ni4r at that point

Curious if iherb equivalents like Piping Rock will still ship melatonin to Australia? Or have they stopped the same time as iherb did?

    • I’ve read from a facebook group they still do and that’s the current go-to alternative.

    • Dude thank you for this comment. I had misunderstood and thought we couldn’t get melatonin shipped period, not just from iherb. So I hadn’t looked for alternative shippers.

Just ordered a bunch of tabs from Piping Rock and can sleep easy for the next couple of years at least :)

    • Just ordered 240 and it passed customs today YMMV

  • Wow, just figured from comments that they don't ship melatonin to Australia. I will follow others and won't buy anything from them anymore.

      • +1

        Too much screen time.

        • Thats so true.

          • +3

@easternculture: Its the parents fault, not the company.
Those parents should be found guilty of child endangerment and neglect for just pumping their kids full of over the internet melatonin.
Its not the fault of the company.

      • +4

Where do draw the line "protecting children" though? Do we ban Children's paracetamol? Children's Iron supplements? Children's gummy multivitamins? Technically you could overdose on them all. The key constant in all this - a negligent caregiver. iHerb have taken a heavy handed approach to a social problem.

        • +2

The issue is not the medication. Its the practice of parents. They are giving kids too many melatonin gummies without having any medical insight. If you feed your children right, they shouldnt need iron or multivitamins. And if you keep your kids bored, as in less screen time and more physical or mental activity which kids tend to do when they are bored, they will have a better sleeping pattern.

There is always a root cause for a problem. If you address it, you fix it.

          • +6

@easternculture: Exactly. And iHerb not selling Melatonin to Australia is not a fix for incorrect parent practices. I have given melatonin to my children, have checked with my GP and specialist and have done my own research, and never excedeed the dosage and also never gave him more than twice per week just to make up for lack of sleep when needed. Agree that screen time and less physical activity is a majour issue these days.

        • +4

Need to ban the parents from children, not the OTC.

      • +3

Melatonin nolonger requires prescription in Australia. The ones sold on iHerb are FDA approved and the dosage is clearly shown on the packaging. One can overdose with Paracetamol and ibuprofen that doesn't mean they should be not shipped to Australia. I may be wrong but to me looks more like making it exclusive to Australian brands.

        • +1

          You are not wrong.
Its the parents fault. They should be charged with child endangerment and neglect.

  • +1

Will this work w/ orders shipped to NZ?

    • +1

      nope. its in the conditions.

Only orders shipped to Australia will be eligible for upsized Cashback

  • +1

    Instant tracking. Thanks OP

  • Placed two orders and paid with linked westpac. Standard cashback both tracked within minutes but only one westpac bonus tracked last night. The other is missing…

    Anyone else have this issue?
