Hi Ozbargainers,

Calling out you baldies again - After literally being out of stock at wholesale level for months and months, we've just taken delivery of a new batch of RESTOR Minoxidil just in time to grow your hair in time for summer. Dating of the stock is early 2028, but we have a few boxes of our last order dated End May 2027 which I will mix in with purchases tonight (ie you may order 4x boxes and receive 3 from the 2028 batch and 1 from the 2027 batch) - even if you get the existing stock we have - the dates are good. I've also still got a massive overstock of a few lines (last weeks did did clear some, but certainly not everything) so I am bundling in a (one) bonus item with every same of this bundle tonight, this makes the deal even better than it was the last time we posted it.

Just on this note, Ozbargainers please be aware that if you look back over our older deals https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/6432/nodes and buy from an old post, the dating we have on hand NOW may not be as listed in our older Ozbargain posts, often these posts are expired or locked, this means we cannot change the content of the old post - but we may still have the product on our website. Sometimes (rare) suppliers actually send out later dated stock (which we promote on Ozbargain), then our next delivery comes in as an earlier exp date - most clients understand this (ie we cannot be held to dates of old locked or expired posts) but some get very angry when they expect a guaranteed exp as noted in an old Ozb post - if in doubt please ask or use the date guidance on the website and not older Ozbargain posts, I would much rather answer PM's about expiry dates than angry rants from clients who abuse first and try to understand last.

Anyway - now that PSA is behind us;

I've gone oral recently so no more icky hair/scalp

    • Any difference?

      • I personally have more shedding while im on it. But it does maintain itself.

After 18 months, i have hairs growing on my ears, tip of nose and around eyes. So im stopping it for 3 months to see if it goes away

      • +1

        that just happens with age

        • Pretty sure its from the minoxidil as ive noticed the hair around my eyes is starting to dissapear

      • for oral you really dont want to go over 2mg, ideally 1.5mg max a day, most people are having far higher doses than they should be, it's a marathon but will be more effective and easier to maintain than topical in the long run

        • Its hard to cut the tablet into 1.5mg.

Would be happy with 1mg a day but would only be possible by disolving the tablet into 20mls and taking 2mls daily

      • Stopping will lose head progress which you don't make back just by restarting

        • Dont want to look like a monkey too.

  • Is there any discount code to be applied?
Its adding the shipping + bonus item cost.
For e.g. bonus item cetrine($2.99)+ shipping ($7.99) making it $83.97.

I always love how they market it as "extra strength" meanwhile it's the same 5% formula everyone else uses.

    • Hate to break your spirit, but 5% is actually "extra strength" there is also 2% available

      • What strength is good for beard patch?

        • Really can't give advice sorry - but we only sell 5% and many clients use it for beards (or eyebrows)

        • Generally the 2% is only marketed for women.

  • Any chance my hairline can come back naturally?

    • No
Apparently standing on your head helps blood flow.

      • Can you look at my photo and see if I have a chance?

        • Just get Finasteride from the GP, or plugs, or blaze 1 and don't worry about it.

This other stuff is messy, inconvenient and more expensive, can't imagine anyone who would keep the routine going.

    • Hair line is least likely to restore, but your ONLY bet is to get on a DHT blocker (most common is Finasteride), and then consider a growth promoter (only effective one is Minoxidil).

Topical (the product in OP) works for 40% of men. Oral (needs GP prescription) works for all, to varying degrees, but has higher risk of side effects. Small doses (say 2.5mg) basically never have sides though, and still work pretty well.

Try those for at least one year, then reassess.

If you are still not happy then you can go for a hair transplant, but no good surgeon will even consider that until you've been on the above for at least a year.

If you think this path is right for you, go to a GP now, and get some baseline photos. That will also help the surgeon assess how to best do the surgery.

  • Concept seems great but seems inconvenient to get on the scalp itself if you have hair… which is the purpose, right?

    • Part the hair, drop a drip, gently massage into scalp (or use the dropper which I did to minimise hair contact - it's just wasted on the hair shaft).

Try to get even coverage by evenly placing the drops and massaging.

Once you've done it a few times it ends up only taking about 3 minutes to administer

  • got this from last deal,

i reckon it works but oh boy the itchy scalp is so annoying , i stopped for a while and tried again but that scalp iirritation is not worth it , i got some shampoo from chemist to ease the pain on scalp but again the scalp dryness comes
people sugget foam is better anyone has experience on that ?

    • Some people report foam is better for it because it doesn't have the PG, the ingredient that causes the irritation.

Alternatively, oral Minoxidil is also an option. I switched and have seen much better results (I didn't really respond to topical, which is true for ~60% of men). No side effects.

But as always YMMV, consult a GP.

  • OP, unrelated to this, but why are children's nurofen so ridiculously expensive?
any cheaper alternatives that you know of?
