nbn FTTP or HFC 500/50 $40/M, 750/50 $45/M or 1000/100 $50/M for 2 Months @ amaysim

860

Cheap nbn FTTP or HFC deal for 2 months.

500/50 $40/month for 2 months.
750/50 $45/month for 2 months.
1000/100 $50/month for 2 months.

Stacks with $35 to $40 Cashback on nbn FTTP or HFC 500/50, 750/50, 1000/100 Plans for New amaysim nbn Customers @ TopCashback AU.

IPv4 only and IPv6 is not available.

I assume it's for new customers only however it doesn't say. Can anyone confirm?

I churned from them less than 6 months ago and it shows that pricing for me now. So I suspect new customer is just anyone who doesn't have an active connection with them.

Thanks to FerreroRocher.

What's the ongoing price?

Standard Intro Offer
You’ll be paying the Standard Intro Offer price for 6 months:
NBN 500 - $80/mth.
NBN 750 - $90/mth.
NBN 1000 - $100/mth

Ongoing Pricing
Then, after those 6 months, you’ll be paying:
NBN 500 - $80/mth if you keep an amaysim SIM plan connected (Bundle Price), otherwise $90/month.
NBN 750 - $90/mth if you keep an amaysim SIM plan connected (Bundle Price), otherwise $100/month.
NBN 1000 - $100/mth if you keep an amaysim SIM plan connected (Bundle Price), otherwise $110/month.

Does amaysim NBN use CGNAT?
No, it doesn’t use CGNAT at this stage to deliver our home internet service, no need to opt-out!

  • Do they offer IPv6?

    • IPv4 only.

Also Twix, Superloop will announce their 2gb plans on Thrusday - might as well get your post ready xD

  • +4

Great price although for 2 months only. Here's hoping other mobs joins the party and offer something similar…

    • Hopefully 5 more so I can continue to churn for 1 year then rotate

  • When the offer expire?

  • +23

all that effort for just 2 months

    • +25

      Hand in your OzBargain card.

    • +7

I know you got downvoted but i agree. 2 Months is pissy and barely worth the effort, especially when scumbags like Flip and TGP require 30 days' written notice to churn out.

    • +3

Signup for 2 months and cancel with amaysim live chat.

    • +2

Could be the best 2 months of your life

      • +3

        Ex wife, is that you?

    • +5

Perfect for churners. $80 saving for 2 months and then earn another $95 cashback when churn back to like superloop. By then will be time for Black Friday daeals.

      • +1

Most of the time though you arent considered a new customer within a 12 month window.

        • A new Superloop customer is defined as someone that is no longer a Superloop customer and has no active service with them.

No mentioning of 12 month window this recent deal and someone said they churned every 6 months with no issue.
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/924143

        • I went from Superloop to Superloop for the Black Friday deal lol. Downside was that they activated me 3 weeks early so the month I already paid for was wasted.

    • But the ongoing price is very competitive anyway. Even after 6 months, you will be better off than paying $75 a month for 6 months like most offers.

do they have pop in vic?

  • +2

if only they had 2000/200 50% off

Twix used to the benchmark caramel biscuit. Its now a name synonymous with NBN deals. Nice.

  • Is Amaysim owned by Optus? How does this deal compare with Optus or other ISP deal?

  • +2

Getting competitive now on NBN, too bad the gov let some of us rot with Opticomm!

  • I pay $15 a month for their cheapest mobile plan.
I’m currently on $130/m Launtel 1000/100 plan. I wonder if I’d notice a difference if I changed… Saving $30/m for the same plan sounds good to me.

Wow! What a time to be alive. Never thought I'd see the day NBN plans in Australia would be this low.

    • +4

temporary time to be alive. 2 months only

  • +4

i was with amaysim for about a month and it did not seem as snappy as Optus but then again at this price why not ride the wave! Thank @Twix for posting these deals

    • Try changing your DNS to Cloudflare.

      • +2

by default i have my router set to 1.1.1.1

        • Why not 8.8.8.8?

          • +3

@FerreroRocher: Generally I've found that Cloudflare is consistently faster than Google. You can perform a simple ping test to see which one is faster from your location.

            • @AusRetro: CloudFlare is noticeably faster for me in Adelaide.

The downside is CloudFlare has more downtime than Google (but we're talking like, a minute, maybe even less, every few months that I have noticed, nothing crazy).

        • +1

@FerreroRocher as per other comments. 1.1.1.1 usually has more points of interconnect 8.8.8.8 for Australia is Sydney.

  • Is there a way to switch NBN provider without any downtime?

    • Downtime is very brief anyway.

      • Our switch from Optus to Amaysim NBN took around 10 hr.

    • If you are on FTTP then you can connect the new service on another UNI-D port then cancel your current service after you confirm everything is working.
You will still have downtime of however long the router takes to work when the new service (a couple of minutes) which should be similar to the time it takes to switch providers on the same port if it goes as planned.

      • Amaysim will take over the existing connection. I tried asking them not to do this in a live chat, but they couldn't do it.

  • +2

Thanks this is perfect timing for me

50% off is worth it. Thanks Twix.

    • Do they require a 30-day notice, and can you cancel through their website or app?

      • +3

        Cancel any time.

        • Are they PPPoE or DHCP?

  • Why not tpg fttb 500/100 free first 6 months??

    • +3

More homes have access to nbn FTTP and HFC.

TPG FTTB is only available in selected buildings.

    • +1

Whoo-hoo! No brainer to sign up then, really!

Need to be with Amaysim for 75 days to be eligible for CB.

  • +3

Stacked the cashback and ported from Buddy's free month. I think this is the next best deal for the next two months.

    • +1

Wired ethernet or Wi-Fi? If it was Wi-Fi check that your connected to 5GHz Wi-Fi.

What is the brand and model number of the router?

      • Sorry - im stupid. correct

        D: 272
        U: 47.4

        • Much better. You may need a new router for faster Wi-Fi speeds.

  • I tried to set up a second service on the UNI-D2 port for my FTTP connection, but there was no option to do so. I contacted Amaysim customer support, and they informed me that I can only transfer my current service to Amaysim; active a service on UNI-D2 is not possible.

  • Is it the best deal for the moment? I think cash back already expired.

  • Is there any limitation for subscribed days before receiving cashback from Shopback? Topcashback offer had 75 days limitation.

Looks like there's a $100 Visa Card Reward from Finder if terms are met.
    https://www.finder.com.au/finder-rewards/finder-amaysim-swit…

    • +1

Good deal! Effectively pay 20/mo when taking gift card into consideration. Need to stay on for 3mo to comply with gift card reward eligibility

      40 + 40 + 80 = 160
      - 100 gift card
      $60 for 3mo connection

      • Need to stay on for 3mo to comply with gift card reward eligibility
T&C says 75 days, but given Amaysim don't do pro-rate refund you're not wrong in quoting 3 months given you've already paid anyway.

        Full T&Cs to note:

To qualify for the Reward, you must:
Be aged 18 years or over.
Be a registered Finder member, or create a Finder account prior to claiming the Reward.
Complete a comparison using the Finder Comparison Service.
Click on the unique promotion link to access Amaysim's product page and complete the eligible transaction in the same session.
Purchase and activate an eligible Amaysim product and plan during the Promotion Period.
Use the same first name, last name and email address on your Finder account and transacting with Amaysim.
Be the property owner or primary leaseholder of the property signing up for these services.
Activate your NBN service before the end of the Promotion Period and stay on an Amaysim NBN plan for a minimum term period of 75 days.
Be a new Amaysim NBN Customer.
        Participating products are limited to:
        Amaysim NBN Products
Other eligibility conditions may apply, including but not limited to:
Not being a current Amaysim NBN customer.
Using direct debit or other qualifying payment method.
        Residing in Australia.
Limited to 1 Reward per Finder member regardless of the number of plans purchased on that order.

  • is anyone having issues when tried to login with existing account credentials on their final step for order confirmation?

    • I copy pasted my NBN ID and "Continue" button was disabled. Typed instead of pasting and I was able to complete my order

  • interesting… I signed up new NBN at $37 50Mbps, activated then could upgrade to 500Mbps without extra charge.
chat support said it's true new plan charge will start from next bill but my NBN shouldn't be eligible as I'm no longer "new customer".
hah didn't disagree, just upgraded by myself :)

    • How're you getting $37 for 50Mbps? I'm seeing $75 on the website, it's not included in 50% promo?

  • For my Xiaomi ax1800 I set it to DHCP and hit clone Mac address.

Wasn't working initially, but it was because I wasn't connected to the router properly.

  • In the Finder r&C it says finder account name has to match Amaysim name… How do you even input your name into Finder? There's no section in your finder account portal to do this..

    • +1

Logged into Finder and under Settings, there's an "Update Name" section.

  • Just flew back into the country for a couple months. Should i grab a second hand modem for this or go through amaysim or grab a new one elsewhere?
