I'm on Superloop 100/40 with their refusal to give me the 500/50 NBN upgrade. And the 1 month notice to cancel… not feeling the love with SL

    • +1

Shouldnt this been an auto upgrade to the new plans?

    • +5

nbn excluded 100/40 from the automatic speed boost.

Superloop done 100/40 to 250/100 for FTTP and HFC. Change to 500/50 yourself.

      • Isn't that better?

        • It depends on your requirements.

250/100 is faster download and upload than 100/40.

500/50 is faster download and less upload than 250/100.

      • A letter from MORE nbn states very clearly states that the 100/40 plan by MORE is included for free upgrade to 500/50

        Letter dated august 26 2025

        • +1

100/40 doesn't change from nbn and 100/40 is still available.

          100/40 to 500/50 was More's own choice.

    • if you're on FTTP it hsould be automatic. Theres rules that they can't charge you for a month without intending to provide the service. So if you go through the retentions team, you can ask them to waive it, and they're pretty easy about it.

    • +1

I don't quite understand, shouldn't the other plans be available anyway to swap to?

Unless you're FTTB /FTTC which isn't covered. In which case has nothing to do with Superloop

FTTB won't even do higher than 100 IIRC.

    • Why don't you just switch to that plan?

      • +2

They said I can't switch. I'll need to give them 1 month notice, disconnect, and sign up again (but not even as a 'new' customer, it'll be at the 'existing customer' rates).

        • They said I can't switch

          Have you tried ?

          • @jv: Yep, via chat, and 2 phone calls.

Just gave them my 30 day notice

            • +3

              @dangerdanger:

Yep, via chat, and 2 phone calls.

              Via the member dashboard?

You can change your plan via self-serve…

        • I had 30 day speed boost banked, have used those, got a one month speed boost to 750/50 speed tier. After this will be on 250/100 and decide whether to move to another provider.

    • Weird, I'm on SL 100/40 HFC and was switched to 500/50.

      • -1

Yep, and I told them other people are being offerred the 500/50, some are 250/50. My address shows I can get up to 1000/100, so it's not like they CAN'T offer it. They just wouldn't budge.

So I've just logged on and given them my notice. Will migrate to a different ISP who isn't so stubborn

        • Ah that's frustrating. Good luck with the switch

      • I'm on SL 100/40 FTTP and no change yet. According to the SL chatbot I am not eligible for any change. I'll call them in a couple days time if I'm still on 100/40

        • Looks like you're in the same position I was in. I hope they offer you the speed upgrade you are supposed to have.
For me, it was so painful, I've given them my notice and will mvoe over to any other ISP. Some great non-SL deals going around!

          • @dangerdanger:

            you are supposed to have.

            Not according to NBNCo.

    • Did anyone get the free speed upgrade yet? I am on 1000/50 and upload hasn't changed yet.

    • I hear ya, there k@nts.

You can get a refund, accc dispute. Up to you if you really want the speed. Sign up to a different Telco and make a complaint to there supervisor. If that doesn't work the dispute should. I had same experience with SL.

      • -3

I'm not fussed by the speed. I prefer the passive approach - I've put off 6 of my friends from joining SL. I'll continue to give them the thumbs down (or as my buddy said, give them a fisting) every chance I get.

But I doubt SL give a crap. So it's mutual

        • +1

I switch companies every 6 months. My first was SL, then I learnt about the 30 day cancellation. I disputed it and got a refund, now every company I switch to, I cancel after 5 months because of the 30 day cancellation and sign bonus finishing first 6 months

    • i was on 1000/50 and didn't have the option to choose 250/100 from the portal.

had to do the online chat and was manually moved to 250/100 plan.

  • +3

I signed up yesterday for 500/50 deal from Leaptel for $79.95 per month for next 12 months..

    • $65 with Southern Phone for 12 months

      • $50 Arctel 6 months YMMV

        • Wow, never heard of these guys.
Any catches to be aware of?

        • +2

Bloody cheap but I gotta be honest, churning every 6 months sucks.

          • @xyron: Yeah It is a bit annoying. But I'm getting used to it

        • It's not looking good. others are complaining that the option for 500/50 option has disappeared compared to a few days ago

      • Do you have a link? I can only see $75/month for 12 months on 500/50

        • Ah sorry you're right, it was $65 yesterday. Taking advantage of the speed hikes to introduce a price hike

          • @xyron: Classic move by the telcos 🙄

            • @snep: Yeah it sucks. I had a feeling theyd do something like this when NBN announced the "free" speed upgrades.

My 12 months expires in January, hopefully the competition has warmed up again by then.

As The Streets famously said over 20 years ago, A Grand Don't Come For Free.

    • +2

Superloop will be my next churn as I’ve scheduled Buddy for the next month. Currently on the $1 from AussieBB

      • +1

        Username checks out. Love it

  • Would a churn from Exetel to Superloop be eligible for this?

    • +1

I reckon so! Even though it is same parent.

      • +2

        it is same parent.

        Parthenogenesis?

    • +1

Yeah you can change between both.

      • I was with Superloop, now with Exetel, want to go back to Superloop because of this deal. Reckon they'll allow it?

        • Sure, but if you did the $100 cashback for Exetel you have to stay 90 calendar days then you can leave on day 91, possibly you could leave on the 90th calendar day too.

        • Yeah it should work.

In our context, a “new Superloop customer” means someone who:

          • Doesn’t currently have an active Superloop service in their name (broadband or mobile); and
          • Is signing up for a new service (not moving or changing an existing Superloop service).
    • why would you want to? I'm on $66 with exetel, just got the upgrade to 500/50, another couple of months at this price at least.

      • I'm in an Opticomm estate, so no 500/50 offer from them at all, by the looks of it. Still stuck on 100/20.

        • Superloop and Leaptel have 500/50 OptiComm.

          • +1

@Twix: Yes, which is why I wanted to churn from Exetel to Superloop.

Exetel look to have simplified their offer range to only one plan (the 500/50) and no longer have any Opticomm plans. So if I didn't know about the free speed boost & this cashback offer, I'd be stuck on my current plan indefinitely!

    • Do you have any downtime during the churn process?

  • -2

$80 per month with 500/50 after cashback not worth it

    • +2

      ($75 x 3) - $95 = $130/3 = $43.33/month

Potentially may need to factor in the 4th month. Not sure how you calculated to $80/month

Even factoring in the 4th month, it becomes $51.25/month

      • something about wrong answers on the internet

        • They're maths is fine. No idea where yours comes from.

  • So annoying. I signed up on a lower plan last night for $65 cashback as the "upsized offer" was ending. Now it is at $95! At this cashback I would have signed up for a higher plan!!!

  • +3

A new Superloop customer is defined as someone that is no longer a Superloop customer and has no active service with them. Really? No need to wait 12 months?

    • Must be a new policy. But great news!

  • +1

Thanks OP tempting but I am thinking to try and go for 1000/400 now if someone offers it cheap for 6 months

  • +8

The 30 day cancellation thing is a real hassle having to call up and cancel last time. Their retention team did offer a measly $10 off a month offer, but that ended up still being more expensive than competitors anyway. And you have to stay with them for 90 days? Yeah no thanks.

    • +3

This. Been a pain and never again.

      • +1

Agreed. I'll never touch them again.

        • Me too. See above. Very unhelpful ISP

    • +2

Yeah had that phone call, they started at $5 off then went to $10, and i was like "yeah that doesn't change my situation here given the plan i'm, moving to is still another $20 cheaper"

  • How long until payout is approved? It says 25 weeks.

  • +2

Any thoughts on Superloop vs Leaptel?

    • Both decent for me, ping to Asia servers pretty good in gaming. There is 30 days cancellation notice for superloop, can’t remember for leaptel.

      • -3

From my experience, you will regret SL

  • Will I receive if I sign up for the plan to commence in 2 week's time?

  • Will this work with referral?

  • Superloop seem pretty good, I assume they have referral system?

Paying a bit over $80 for leaptel so $75 isn't really worth changing (100/20), limited options and speed is restricted to 100/20 on fttb.

Leaptel have a good referral system ($50 off and $50 for the referee).

    • +1

Only issue with SL is the 30 day cancellation requirement, so if you see another deal in the future you’ll still have to pay them out for a month

  • Are you eligible for cashback if you sign up and get the 6 months new customer promo?

  • +1

Thanks OP, need a new ISP soon as the More deal is no More for me.

  • +1

Econnex (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/924135) seems to be a better deal: $100 and only need to stay connected for 45 days, so the 500Mbps plan = (($75*2)-100)/2 = $25 per month for 2 months.

    • But you get a gift card you have to use rather than cash and also wait 120 days to receive said GC.
How long does it take for TCB to payout for superloop?

      • It's a digital visa card, so I ususally just use it to buy a 5% discount wish card.

    • How does the NBN through Econnex work when it's provided by Superloop? Does the 1 month cancellation superloop notice apply to the plans purchase via Econnex?

      • +1

Econnex is just a comparison site, so after signing up, you will receive a welcome email from Superloop. You are a customer of superloop after signing up through econnex, so the 30 day notice period still applies.

        • Ahh righto. I didn't realise Econnex is just a comparison site. Thanks!

  • Anyone know if we can pick a date or needs to be asap?

    • I picked a date when i did the last CB deal.

  • +1

Has anyone had luck with Opticomm tracking from TCB with Superloop?
If its a definite no then won't try it :)

    • Opticomm is seperate from NBN. The terms state that it must be one of the 7 NBN plans. So it won't be eligible.

  • +4

30 day cancellation notice. Be aware everyone.

    • pro-rate?

      • Not sure. But I've seen a lot of people complain about this. You have to call, wait, speak to their cancel team, wait for them to try and bribe you, then you hope that your other NEW isp gets the date right or else you'll be without internet.

      • Yes. Once you nominate a cancellation date (30 days in the future), if the cancellation date is before the end date of your current invoice, you will be refunded the difference between the cancellation and last billing date. If it is greater than the end date of your current invoice, your last invoice will be prorated to the cancellation date.

  • Can new signup use Superloop refer a friend Code ? 10% discount

    • try it

  • +1

I thought these guys would be one of the first to offer the 2gbps plans, surprisingly still nothing published.
Google does show a link to hyperspeed details, but the link doesnt actually show anything .

  • Anyone knows when this cashback offer ends? Still on Exetel and won't churn until mid-October

  • These are Superloop's new plans…

Why would anyone in their right mind choose 'Power Home' over 'Family Max' ????

    • +3

They are due for a product consolidation. Exetel went to having 1 plan, these guys went to having 8. Poor strategy all the while antagonising customers. Disappointing.

      • +1

The introduction of the new speeds was an excellent time to consolidate.

  • +1

Painful experience getting the cashback, took over 6 months and several emails, super annoying.

    • -1

      super annoying.

      It's in the name.
