Watch out last time I printed with them on the $1 deal and it was all weird color cast, stupid contrast, and the photos are hand cut - with skewed angles and white border on one edge!

Never had a problem with the prints personally, i adjust all color on my own (mind you i used to print photos for a living)and the store i go to has the Fuji machine so it automatically cuts it. The white border is also an option on the touch machines so for your prints to have borders you have to select it…

      • Just curious, do you just prepare for sRGB on a calibrated monitor, or do you use some of the Fuji profiles in your workflow? sorry for n00b question.

    • I had a similar experience where I printed a large mosaic - there were slight variations between each piece. Recently I saw that they now offer the option of no colour adjustment being done on your prints (something I never saw before outside proper print shops).

  • what's the link? Thx

  • Great. I've been waiting for one of these cheap large print deals. The frames are a great deal, too.

    • I agree on the prints - a great deal. But those frames are just nasty. I rememebr when I was buying them the woman was taking them out of boxes to stack the shelves, and she said had to check the glass carefully, as often it came broken.

The glass is also streaky (internally, so no amount of cleaning can fix).

It seems a shame to get a nice large print - just to put it behind streaky glass in an ugly cheap frame.

  • Love this deal. I'm just annoyed that my Samsung Galaxy S3 does not connect with the Big W photo machines- not by Bluetooth or cable. The sales girl tried everything. I have to get the images onto a USB stick, & take it in. (The only place I have found that I can bluetooth them is at the Kodak shop.) Any ideas?

    • Odd. Never had any problem using a Galaxy Note and bluetooth at both Big W and HN (both use Fuji machines). I'd just stick to USB and not waste more time :)

  • My BigW is a lottery on photo quality with disappointing results last time despite my efforts at home to get them right with a fancy monitor and flash editing program.

  • Sorry guys…but was it $3 for 12 x 18 last time and 12 x 16 this time?

    • +1

last time iirc was 12x18. But time before that was 12x16.

      • It was $3 for the 12x18 and $1 for the 12x16 before that.

Wa hoo! Was saying yesterday i needed another sale like this! Time to go print crazy!

  • Last time I printed on gloss and had it framed up on the $3 frame. I regretted doing so. Somehow the frame is not tight enough to hold the print completely flat against the glass so with gravity the print folds down ever so slightly but this effect is magnified through the reflection on the print (not the reflection on the frame glass). I'm going to have this reprinted again, this time with matte. I'll be reusing the same $3 frame I bought previously.

simply pad behind the print with a couple of layers of paper - it will be nice and snug then.

    • +1

if framing then always print matte as glossy can stick to glass

this canvas prints are so over priced!!

the kmart 20x30 is always $99, they dont lower is higher their prices every few weeks

really bad deal on this canvas'

    • +3

But this deal is not for canvas prints, so your negative is not valid.

    • and the bigw 20x30 is $69 so isn't it a better deal atm?

Oh I could kiss you! (yeah, don't get too excited, there isn't a button for that)

Perfect timing - parents' ruby wedding anniversary and overseas relies visiting, so lots of big family photos being taken this weekend. Will be nice to be able to get them up on the wall quickly and to be able to send relies home with some copies.

  • I cashed in on this deal today to print out some HQ artwork scans that had a close to 4:3 ratio (mostly web acquisitions, but some scanned from borrowed art books). I was very pleased with the results, but I had carefully cropped, colour corrected, bolstered saturation, sharpening ect beforehand. People who have had bad results have probably used the auto-correct option. Make sure your image is at least 4 MP, ensure your monitor is calibrated to the correct brightness, crop to the exact aspect ratio (or you can extend the canvas/background if you are using Photoshop), and you should get very good results. The prints weren't exactly a 4:3 aspect ratio though for a little was cropped off either the top or bottom; this was only noticeable in 2 out of 20 prints though.

For more rectangular prints BigW has a 8x12 inch option for around $3.
