VivoBarefoot Evo Mesh VB220001MBLK only £29.99 plus free socks and 10% code NYSAVE10

Introduced in 2010, the Evo put VIVOBAREFOOT on the performance map. Years later it is still the must-have multi-terrain barefoot product for your collection. The hexagon shaped, soft abrasion-resistant PU cage and hydrophobic mesh upper not only look great, but provide extra protection and breathability. The ultra-thin, puncture-resistant, rubber outsole offers maximum proprioception with protection, and the anatomic shape of the shoe allows the toes to splay and the foot to move naturally. Designed as one the most versatile performance products, if there is one shoe to have, this is it.

Please note: For a better fit, we advise going down a size in this style.

You mean they're a bargain if you like barefoot shoes and have little feet..

      size 11 max..pfft

  • what do you mean better fit? if i pick my size would that be too loose? i wouldn't want to order a size below and have it too tight or not fit right

    • +2

Im normally a 44 and last time ordered black 44s and they fit fine so in my case normal size was good if your really worried go try them on a local shop first

  • +'ve because I said "wtf" out loud when I saw these shoes.

Great pair of zero drop shoes. However my only complain is the fact that they 'tap' or 'clack' when pounding the pavement (yes, I run with a forefoot strike), it makes me sound like a lady in heels chasing after you from behind. Won't be a problem if running offroad

    • schwinn, since you've got a pair, can I ask how the sizing is?

Site reccomends downsizing meaning its a little large is that correct?

      • +2

There was a comment from an old thread, I dug it out for you… basically you go to:

        http://www.vivobarefoot.com/us/mens/evo-ii-dk-red.html

And then click 'How will it fit?'

This will allow you to enter your current shoe as a reference point, and they will give you the corresponding size. That's what I used and the fit was good.

        • Thanks.

A pity I have none of the shoes that was listed on it… lol…. What shoes were you comparing to and was it same size for same size?

    • "Won't be a problem if running offroad"

because her heels will get caught?

  • is it just me or does their website fail when trying to purchase?

    • yeah fails for me too, when i press checkout, it disappears

  • has anyone worn these to do anything other than road running ie. crossfit/circuit training? they dont really look like they can take much punishment from anything other than pavement….

    • +1

Apparently they do tend to fall apart easily. However, I'd say thats made up for by the price.

  • Does anyone know if these would be good for weightlifting?

And if any reps are reading, could you do a deal on the women's equivalent please? I'll get a pair if so.

    • me too so i just gave up cbf

Not too sure if it does but I have a mate who uses a similar shoe (vibrams 5 fingers) for kettle ball training at the gym.

I mean, this is an alternative to the 5 fingers and doesn't look so …. weird (they both have thin soles, letting you use your more 'natural' footstrike or something like that,) which is why I'm looking at these shoes to start barefoot jogging with.

That being said, he did say to me that he needed to adapt to it as it leant him forwards a little more.

I imagine that if you wanted something like this but more supportive, to go with a version of like nike frees or something.

Personally I don't believe these are good shoes for weight lifting. barefoot running relies on your joints (ball of feet, heel, ankles, calves) to absorb the impact when you pound the ground.

When weight lifting you typically have your foot flat to the ground, and I would definitely prefer some form of cushioning. I used to do weights in my room barefoot, and compared to wearing sports shoes (supported) in the gym, I'd definitely choose to have some plushness under my sole.
