bro its a $319 laptop with 1 year warranty and licensed windows 11, relax

      • +7

That has nothing to do with refurbishment grading? I don't care about performance at that price, I do care about physical damage, scratches, cleanliness and aesthetic so I want accurate grading on those.

        • +12

You don't care about performance at that price? Are you buying a brick? Lol

          • +8

@rhali8: Performance is easily objectively understood just from the specs, understanding the condition is the hard part

            • @Jackson: Not completely true, actual performance a bit of a mire because of varying power limits and cooling solutions

      • +3

Let's talk when you claim the warranty.

        • When purchasing refurbished laptops from providers, especially those that are out of lease, it's really a game of chance when it comes to cosmetic condition. Some users take excellent care of their devices, while others completely neglect them, making it almost a lottery. I believe you may have had a particularly bad experience with these in the past

      • -4

Is that you OP with a dummy account to fix your reputation?

        • +3

No, I work for a company that has bought hundreds of refurbs from these guys over the years. Every now and then we'll get a laptop that's not really "A grade" as the name implies but for how ridiculously cheap they are we're not complaining

          • -5

@rhali8: "I work for a company that has bought hundreds of refurbs from these guys over the years" - sounds like bias to me.

            • +15

@Digiiz: Why would that be characterised as 'bias'? So if his company had only bought a few he would, by your logic not be biased? Clearly not a logical conclusion.

Bias has absolutely nothing to do with how many they have bought. The user, @rhali8 has a very good point as they have a very large sample size to draw upon for making their comment.

              Explain how.

      Yep

      • +8

While you say it's the same, the eBay one is listed as Good Refurbished which I believe is Grade B, whereas the one in OP is listed as Great A.

Not sure which one of the two listings is misleading, but certainly one of them is.

        • @Calmago any answer to this? I’d like to know too before buying one.

        • +2

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16914140/redir

according to his comment on the previous deal, the ebay listing has to be grade A

          • @kazer: Curious about this… I enquired to Harris technology, they did their grade b, only 50% battery. Though not written anywhere i could find

          • @kazer: I have seen many B grade laptops from this and other sellers, so not sure if that comment about eBay listing is correct. If it was grade A, it would have been listed as Very Good or Excellent.

        • +3

Grade b products don’t qualify for the eBay refurb program. Our B grade items on eBay are listed as used

          • +1

@Calmago: Based on this, bought 2 for my kids school. Thanks!

            • +3

              @pumpkins: That's a very small school you're running there!

  • +3

    Will this run Civ4?

    • +3

      Ah ha ha.

This is exactly why I'm pondering buying it. Just one more turn.

It will run Civ IV so well. You could put 32 GB in and run it even better.

  • +2

Any chance you can provide any laptops with Windows11 Pro?

  • +7

I bought HP probook from them last week.
    Paid aroud $256.(ebay plus)
The condition of the unit was amazing.
Battery life slso more than what i expected from a 4 year old unit.
May be someone barely used it.
Any way I CAN'T fault it.
    With EBAYPLUS returing is easy

  • Thanks, bought one.

  • In the specs, some things are listed as optional such as the fingerprint reader. Does this include them, and if they're included as optionals, where can this be selected?

    • These cant be selected, it is luck of the draw.

  • +3

Just purchased a Dell 7200 2 in 1 for from these guys.

I paid $241.40 with eBay code.

Was packaged and posted same day.

Ordered 19th and delivered today 24th September.

Can't say what the quality is yet as it's sitting in the box at work. Can update when I take a look.

    • Yes, it's a great choice to learn any linux, including kali.

  • I just bought one of these from ebay from these guys, before this deal, for $460 and it was immaculate. I have return two machines seamlessly, both change of.mind.

    Im a fan of them.

  • Would this run command and conquered remastered (via steam)?

    • +1

Not sure but for any gaming i'd opt for a Ryzen CPU with integrated ryzen graphics. It's pretty solid. Like a L14 ThinkPad. Scored one from this seller a while back and it's been solid as.

  • +1

Do these models have a backlit keyboard?

    • +1

Same question asked before. No response from seller. As such I reckon they are not backlit and seller does not want to confirm it.

A 12 year old laptop. It's good enough for Web browsing and office work

Dell quality is impressive with carbon fibre casing

  • +2

  • Bought a dell laptop from these guys with an upgraded SSD package. All the screws on the laptop are stripped beyond reason. Unsure if it's a one off but my experience for self repair is a buyer beware. Even under manufacturing stickers the screws have seen some things.
