    sub-$1k 9070XT is finally here

$1279 for a gigabyte 5070Ti isnt too shabby either

    • -1

show us how $1179 is anywhere near $899

      • +2

I meant the 9070 XT in general 899~947 as I claimed, which is $35 off this.

        • +2

that thread and your comment was specifically talking about the Nitro+ though, which is usually the most expensive variant.
don't backpedal on your terrible price targets.

          • -7

@bAps: Yes? Except I also commented on other 9070 XT cards saying to HODL? When was I one for caring about the type of card?

  • +9

People from earlier Mwave threads have been warning about potential headaches from them going into admin and being bought out but it seems like nobody is coming back saying that they never got their order so I guess they've been getting fulfilled without too much fuss?

    • +8

I ordered from Mwave a while back. 1 week after order they went into administration. 1 month after going into administration, they shipped my order. It was tense but I got what i paid for. YMMV

      • +6

1 month delay is a hundred times better than not getting it at all, but it's still pretty bad.

Even some OzBargainers will want to pay more to get it sooner (if, say, this is the last part they need for their new build).

I bought a Ryzen 7 7800x3D and a MSI B850 mobo on the 16th when they were having the 5% all website sale.It was sent on the 18th and received it on the 22nd. Nothing wrong with the products. The parts boxes came wrapped in air cushions and more filling the empty spaces inside the shipping pack. I was worried about the comments in the previous post, but it ended up being a very positive experience.

      • So with an exhaustive sample size of two (2), it sounds like fulfillment times are probably back to normal now that the admin stuff has settled down (but were much delayed while it was going on), good to know!

  • Rtx 5070 for $949 before discount is also a good deal

    • +1

Eh. Not really. There's been low 800s for 5070 before.

      • +1

        829 is low-800s though

        • Ohhhh sorry. Yep you're right. But as a price on its own yeah meh.

Curious the price point of the super models..

      • Not a triple fans model

  • +10

Obligatory “Mwave has gone into administration and acquired by digidirect” warning

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/910854

Then again, I bought a RAM kit from them several months back and it arrived quickly with no fuss. It was unsealed though when it was supposed to be brand new and when I emailed them I never did get a reply.

Lame. Xfx model can't fit my case.. Was waiting on a sub 1k 9070 xt.

    • +4

Yeah that GPU is a bit of a chunky monkey. Triple slot and everything!

Love how small the PCB itself is - half way down the page you see the 'deconstructed' view… Wish I could just buy that and DIY my own cooling

    • The dual fan version is actually a good balance of size and cooling - at least on the 9060xt card. Fits in a fairly small case (just) and keeps the gpu super cool.

      • +2

Yeah.. Unfortunately 9060 xt is only like a 20% boost over my 3060 Ti. Otherwise I'd consider it if it was more like 50%. Vram or not.

        • +2

It is not worth it. Terrible mid end card

          • +1

@Dienk: Pretty amazing mid end card for $550 lol. I mean, given the alternatives. Or $399 if you went with the 8gb version.

But I meant the dual fan 9070xt may also be viable…but you'll definitely get higher temps as it's twice the power!

  • +1

    $980 OOS?

  • +2

🎵 Can we get much lower? 🎵

    • +3

after the Nvidia S version is released or during the Black Friday sale

  • +1

Seeing 9070XT but being linked to 9070 where is the XT ?

  • +3

Oof. Was gonna get one to replace my crappy gigabyte with its loud fans but went OOS before i could. Oh well.

    • it was in stock when you first reply to this deal. still may 9070xt below $1100

      • +2

It was, then i took an hour to think about it and it was OOS.

        • You have learned the first lesson of OzBargain, grasshopper: buy now, think later.

          • +4

@ItsMeAgro: Not cheap enough for a buy now think later type of thing. If it was $900 I would’ve

  • any good deals on a white graphics card? 5070ti / 5080?

  • do we think the sapphire card will get any cheaper??

  • +1

That GIGABYTE card is a piece of shit, mine started leaking thermal goo onto my case lmao

    • Yikes, they also have the PNY 5080 at $1,799 less the $120 code ($1,679) which would be ATL at moment, previous ATL has been 1749

  • +2

Thanks OP- got the PNY 5070 ($899) plus a $2 cable for $780 after discount - it's on backorder though so hopefully it arrives sometime before the 5070 super is announced…

  • This or a 5070ti? Wanting to upgrade my entire PC.

    • If I did buy the 9070, I would buy a 9070xt at $980, but it is OOS now. I was after a 9070xt, 5070ti or 5080. It all depends on the price. I jumped to 9070 just because the price was too good to pass. I even placed an order for the price error 5060 Ti deal.

One thing to keep in mind is that if a game 9070xt can't play 5070ti, it can't play either. If you want to use the GPU for work, some software doesn't work with AMD GPUs

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/919131

      • I couldn't find your $979 deal, the link goes to the second deal in the title. What's OOS? I have a 5800x CPU. I'm wondering If I should just buy the 9070 xt and install it or just buy a new PC. What do you think.

  • so what's the Consensus about Mwave? Not sure i'm trusting them while being interstate. Might just wait for Centrecom or MSY to come down. (Nitro+)

  • Never had problems with mwave in the past. Was surprised 😯 back in June about going into administration and then the Digi Direct Group acquired them. First BookTopia, now Mwave - the group is hoovering up all these potentially lucrative businesses.

Why do GPUs go out of stock so quickly? Do businesses hold very little stock or are people now middle-man-ing their way in 🤣

  • this or the 7900 xtx that is still not shipped!

  • $979 for XT is an excellent price, if you remove GST and convert to USD it's under the USD MSRP.

Looks like they didn't have a lot of stock though…

Makes me wish I didn't buckle to FOMO and pay $1300 in March! Tbf, I was suffering with an rx480 and 5070ti was well over $1500 at the time too.
