The battery mowers are great. Significantly quieter, lighter, and still enough power to do relatively dense or high grass (but not both).
So your self a favour if your spending this type of money. Get a self propelled.
Yes they are a bit more.. bit man, they work a treat on our slopped block.
I am looking for a self propelled for my slopped area. I prefer a battery powered one. Which one do you recommend?
It depends on the eco system your in, i got makita as i already had 5 batteries and other tools, id rate it.
Just be aware that self propelled on a battery mower will reduce run time by 20 to 30% and add 5 to 15 kg of weight.
Personally I would give it a miss and see it as a chance to get some exercise.It makes mowing the lawn less tedious, so i guess it depends how motivated and diciplined you are i guess…(your a better/more motivated person than me!)

If it makes you more inclined to get out there and mow the lawn that's great. For me, the added exercise is a small bonus. The bigger downsides are the reduced runtime and added weight.Weighing up the pros AND cons of a new purchase has never been unhelpful for me.
