  • Would love some feedback from people on heat pumps - I currently have a non-vented small laundry and my dryer is on the way out

    • +1

Heat pump is superior to vented dryer in everyway except for weight. They are heavier so if you have a small laundry you can't wall mount them.

      • Not superior in drying times. There may be cases where vented is preferred (e.g. someone with lots of solar generated energy).

    • +1

Best upgrade I ever did - just don't expect them to dry quickly in comparison though

    • Thank you both for your replies. Out of interest why do you say that? If it takes longer, are you just suggesting the end result is better?
      What makes it superior?

      • +2

They are great. They don't get as hot as a standard dryer, will take about twice as long to dry and seems to tangle more with sheets than a standard dryer. However, they are cheap to run. We use it twice a day on average and it's about 20kw per month. As they don't get as hot they look after your clothes more, and no dust in the house, again no dust. We'd never go back to a standard dryer ever.

        • If you see dust after running a vented dryer, you may have other issues such as old building or old window/ door seals. I have been using a vented dryer (not even vented through the wall), and I dont see any dust. I clean the filter after every use.

This one looks to have reverse tumbling too, looks good for the money.

To help the community, I've had this running for a few months doing a few loads a day now & it is very solid. Keep the two filters clean each time & you'll be laughing. I used GGC then price matched JB and they did me a good deal, so your mileage may vary. I haven't used the wifi stuff at all. Plays a little tenacious d song when it's finished, but it isn't annoying.

I can second this, we have a similar situation to this and very happy with the unit. WiFi was connected to the unit when we first got it but feel it's a bit of a gimmick.
Compared to our previous Hisense heat pump this is better by a long shot

    • tenacious d song

      please tell me its tribute

also i would happily pay a premium to be able to customise a little midi / mp3 track on my devices like washer, rice cooker, microwave etc

  • you can also add 10 % uncapped shopback as well

    • +1

10% shopback is not eligible if via price beat according to t&c

If anyone wants to stack this on a Haier washing machine you need the Fisher & Paykel stacking kit #428122. No idea why is Fisher & Paykel branded for Haier models.

    • Haier is owned by F&P

  • Extra $150 can get you an LG 9kg heatpump. Edu email required though but just use your kids.
