Cutting Mats - A3 : $4 - A2 : $7 at The Reject Shop

611

Not a deal for everyone, but for all you design and arts people/students, cutting mats are an essential. These go for quite high prices for what they are, at art stores all over Aus, including online retailers. Get them before uni starts.

I've had mine from the same shop for about a year now (same price as before), although these don't look quite as high end, they do the same job well.

Expected price for A3 mats are $15+ at art stores such an Eckersley's, and are even higher at stores like Officeworks.
Expected price for A2 mats are nearing $30 and higher($61 @ Officeworks).

I've only seen these in Liverpool (NSW), haven't been to any other Reject shop, so availability is unknown.

  • good, ive been looking for a cheap a2 one. thx

  • thanks, will check at my local store. always wanted one of these for kids craft.

  • on a related note, where is a cheap place to get nice paper to make invitations?

    • Paper prices tend not to fluctuate too much, so any art store will do, and you get some better advice there too. Otherwise it's just Officeworks or some place like Big W and such.

  • Good price, thanks.

  • Aaaargh… I just bought one from an art shop. That's a great price

  • Great Price. Will grab one

    Thanks for posting :)

20 years ago they were really expensive.

    • Yeah, and the cheap shops had them for less in those days too.

At an art shop, back in the day 10+ years ago, prices were easily at $40-60 for an A2 mat.

Just called around, Glen Waverley (VIC) has got them.

  • I have one of the large ones. I also bought them at the reject ages ago. Probably close to two years. Still in good shape and have been used for quite a bit. :)

  • These have been this price for at least a yr…. Just saying.. Cos they were they when my local reject shop first opened..

    • As said in the description.

Just decided to share, as it's a good price in comparison to other stores.

"I've had mine from the same shop for about a year now (same price as before), although these don't look quite as high end, they do the same job well."

  • Thanks OP, I heard my wife mention she was looking for one (online) last night.. I think she was talking 20ish dollars for an A3 one (delivered) - this couldn't have been better timed!

Indeed, they are quite expensive. Although the quality of the more expensive ones are better.
HOWEVER in terms of use and performance, they're the same thing. Only difference would be that these cheaper ones dont self-heal as well as the other ones. Overall, these things are a bargain.

      Thanks.

  • I bought one of these to use as a super sized mouse pad. Surface is too rough to be used effectively as a mouse pad.

    • thanks for info - just saved me a trip

  • thats a great price

  • Cool cheaper than HobbyKing with bigger sizes :P

Carindale, QLD has a bunch of A2 and A3 (back right hand side of store). Nice work OP.

  • None at Point Cook

    • I take that back. There's only about 7 of the A3 ones left.

  • Perfect timing for me.
    Thanks OP.

  • plenty of both sizes at the Marion Westfield store (SA) got an a2 one today…

Got one A2 and A3 from the Glen Waverley store today, plenty left. Good Deal!

    • Nice! Might get myself an A3 one as a smaller extra.

  • If you can't see the A2, try asking for it. My local had it stored elsewhere as there was no room on the shelves

  • Details for Perth metro stores. None near me but good luck to orher OzBrs
