So, to get your recorded audio out, you'll need to use analog cables & dub it to another device…!!! (per DSE staff answer to a reader question).

Sorry, DSE, but this puppy way is overpriced (as are the colorful "free" earphones)m IMO… :-/

I'd wait for DSE to -drop- the price by 50%… except: there's -already- been an OzB deal for a similar (but "no label" = "no brand") recorder that does -so- much more for < $12, that I've ordered some of those… ;-)

  • Those MDR-XB200 headphones are very average, by the way (I have a pair).

Sensitivity is not great (low volumes for given output) and nothing like the 'soft cushion' MDR-XB300 (and so on) extra-cushy bass models; build quality is cheaper than those here; comfort is worse than the cushy models and the ear-hinge area of the headphones seems more fragile-looking to me (just by appearances of the plastic). Sound is OK for its class but just less sensitive so harder to drive to higher volumes if you like that. They have a 'fresher' look about them. They don't mention the colour you get; there are various colours.

A shame for no computer upload capability with the voice recorder, and it lacks a memory card slot, but this recorder goes for $28 overseas. It is otherwise well-reviewed and I doubt any cheapie selling for less could compete with it in areas it's good at.

$28 USD if ordering overseas (before delivery).

Still, this is OK value for Australia provided you can make use of these two and don't mind some mediocre headphones bundled with a low-cost recorder.
