This laptop can be purchased from Amazon.co.uk for $735 (postage included) - yesterday it was well over $1000!

The next best price is $848 from the Good Guys, but everywhere else I've found the laptop to be around $1000.

Has good specs for a laptop, comes with a super fast hard drive, is nearly as thin as a macbook and comes with Windows 8. Also available is the next-level-up version (which has a Intel Core i7 and 1.9 GHz Processor) for $826, which is also a great price!   acer's laptops are quite good, generally. however the price is not that good. for anyone who is going to fly overseas in the next 30 days, the good guys is where they should check out.

  Just be cautious about the warranty, it's an Acer so you're gonna need it.

    You're basing that on what? I work in client support for a few of the largest corporations in Australia. After Dell, Acer is the 2nd least number of RMAs we process.

      their service is poor
      bad experience with PC service badly fixed after OFT NSW complaint only and 1 year of fobbing off

  and the keyboard doesn't have lights so it hard to use at night time…because i had the S3951…They keyboard is not that good ..apart from that it Not Bad laptop….But Experience with Acer customer service was dreadful..

    I thought You talking about MLN ..they are even more dreadful than Acer. I am never buying a single thing from MLN even they are the cheapest..they are dodgy as hell.!!!

  Seems like a very good deal!

  I nearly bought one of these, though decided on a MacBook Pro Retina. The Acer is most certainly the cheaper option.

  I would recommend anyone considering this to read the CNET review. The keyboard could be problematic for some.

  I had a faulty power pack and they sent me a new one with a prepaid box to return the faulty one.

      I did not have to initially prove that the charger was faulty, they took my word for it. Acer sent a replacement straight to my home, that's convenient, as I did not have to visit any Acer certified repair specialist, or take the faulty product to the retail store in which I bought it from.
