$9.99 for a bunch of 10 roses, exclusive to the 3 stores in Ballarat, Victoria. (Ballarat, Victoria Street and Wendouree).
This price at valentines day is a huge bargain. They are all locally grown in Ballarat for Coles and not the rubbish imports that have been flooding the market over the last few years.
They have plenty of stock and plenty of red ones.
Florists usually charge upwards of $100 at Valentines day per bunch.

  A good buy for those who can get to those stores, but be VERY careful Coles has not had these in storage for a couple of weeks or more. Generally, florists cannot even buy roses wholesale for anything like this price around valentines day.

  The easiest way to test for freshness is to gently 'pat' the top of the roses. If they fell soft to the touch, they are old, and will only last a very short time. Fresh roses will feel 'crispy' to the touch.

  If you're on the receiving end of roses at Valentine (or any other end, before popping them in water, snip a cm or so off the bottom of the stems, at an angle. Changing their water every day or two will also prolong their life considerably.
