  • D-Link DIR-600 is n150.

    • But rock solid on DD-WRT

      • The C revision of the D-Link DIR-600 is not compatible with DD-WRT, says the DD-WRT site. (B1 & B2 are).

Rep, can you clarify which version you are selling?

        • It is actually revision B5.

  • +1

hi rep, just want to make sure, sodim ram or desktop ram? what is the speed? thanks

    • As per the picture maybe SODIM? I can also see the Samsung sticker so maybe from laptop upgrades

    • "Assorted 2GB Ram modules - From computer upgrades"

I think they mean laptops, but also it means the memory is 2nd hand? Hence the 6month warranty.

      • IF SODIM i might just grab a single to upgrade my old netbook from 1GB to 2GB that i got from this

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55087

        • It is DDR3 1333. So just make sure it is compatible.

    • Same question here - can you confirm what sort of Ram this is? Desktop or laptop ddr3?

    • I'd still say that the RAM would be very reliable. I've only ever come across one defective RAM module and that was a DDR1 module. I've never noticed a difference between any RAM and a lot of benchmarks show that pretty much the only task affected by slower RAM is video transcoding using multiple cores. I can't remember where I saw the benchmark but it showed that after 1600Mhz there was nil-to-unnoticable difference. That being said I saw that review early last year but I would get 1600Mhz although for a HTPC or Laptop I wouldn't mind 1333Mhz.

    • Same question, wondering what kind of ram it is.

    • +1

This is Laptop RAM, which has come from machines we have upgraded. All machines upgraded were brand new so the RAM has been used only to boot up the machine initially and test. DDR3 1333.

  • Any decent USB Modem capable routers in the new line up?

  • Can get D-Link DIR-615 for $15 from Harvey Norman right now (it also does DD-WRT).

Apple does not offer a 250GB SSD drive, think that's a typo (should be 256GB) - or have you swapped around parts?

    • $15 + Shipping I believe?

The 250GB upgrade is done by us.

  • Does anyone know if the HP laptop comes with the OS installed on the 120GB (i assume) mSATA partition?

    • Yes it does. We transfer the image from the 640GB to the SSD.

      • Rep just confirming. I am assuming that laptops which have HDD only and no SSD will still come with the optical drive?

Also is there an additional mSATA? I know some laptops have small additional mSATAs (32Gb/64gb etc) that are used for caching. Is that the case here as well (since you're responding to a comment on mSATA)? Or am I just misinterpreting everything (which I am known to do :p).

        • That is correct, if it is just the SSD there will be an optical drive.

No mSATA in this machine though sorry it is a full SSD. Apologies for the confusion there.

  • Someone might remove & sell the flash sto;-rage drive (when new; after first purchase) & sell it to effect a further cost saving. :-)

    • The OS is on that drive so it would be kind of a pain…

  • Rep can you confirm the revision of the $15 D-Link DIR-600 Router?

The DD-WRT site says it's not compatible with version C.

    • We have been told these are revision B5 and my research says they are not currently compatible with DD-WRT. However, I have not had a chance to actually test this myself as the stock will not be here for another week or so.

    • Just got mine today and it's a B2 which is supported according to
      http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#D-Lin…

      • I honestly forgot to check yesterday when the stock arrived. They are B2 I just spot checked about 5 boxes.

Well that is definitely good news. I will be cracking one open today to test DD-WRT.
