Pyrex 1L Measuring Jug at Coles Was $12 Now $3

700

Saw this at Mitcham Coles. A 1L glass Pyrex measuring jug. It's quite heavy. The old ticketed price was $12. It's now $3. Looks like a clearance item so not sure if it's at other stores

I bought three packs of tea towels last night for $3.20 each. They had allegedly been $14.99 and were marked about $3.78 on the shelf. This was at coles innaloo WA if anyone is interetsed. There were about 8 packs left.

  • Not at my coles :(

  • Not at my coles either. Maybe a store special only.

  • Great price.

(paid about that for a plastic 1.5 litre from reject shop.)

These are awesome . Nothing lasts like pyrex gear .

    • Most Pyrex only has a 2 year warranty now and is made out of cheaper glass. :(
You can still find some items under the name Pyrex Classic which has a 10 year warranty and is still made out of the original borosilicate glass.

Guess it doesn't matter for a measuring jug though…

Yeah the 'Old' style glass was Borosilicate glass. Which can withstand very high temperatures and is very stable during temperature changes.

Unfortunately, they stopped producing it likely due to costs, though rumor has it was because the glass made for excellent drug setups due to its temperature 'shock' resistance.

  • Yeah that's some good shizz over there. I was pretty disappointed when I saw that section in Coles Ashfield today. Everything was reduced by like 50-75%, all the good stuff was already gone :(

Just a plastic ladle left pretty much.

You come on ozbargain talking about a plastic ladle and you don't even tell us how much the ladle cost?

      Bro, do you even thrift?

  • that good deal i might go check out few up my way in towns ville

  • this has been on for a few weeks now at waringah mall and balgowlah Coles.there have been a few kitchen items on super special, there were still a number of items when I passed by on Friday

    • Thanks for posting the deal

  • This will go great with my vaginal moisturiser.

    • Is that a euphemism?

  • I don't think Pyrex make that shape anymore, which is probably why it's marked down. They come in a new shape now - like an upside down cone - and markings are on the inside. (We noticed because we recently replaced a broken one and don't like the new shape.)

    • the pyrex jugs on special is the upside down cone style

      • Oh ok - the one in the photo is the old style!?

Coles is having a massive launch of a new cookware range in the next few weeks, so almost everything that's currently in store is getting cleared out at about 75% off of regular prices. It is Australia wide, but you wont find too much decent stock in most stores since its been on clearance for the last few weeks.

There were quite a few Wiltshire utensils between $1 to $2. Most of the culinary stuff was reduced to clear as well. Came home this morning with about 7 items for about $12. Plenty of stock still at Mitcham Coles for those in the area.

      • +1

Yup… that's all cookware. All of the Wiltshire, 3dollar, 6dollar branded lines, and just about everything that counts as cookware other than Decor and Sistema plasticware are being replaced by Coles' new Cook and Dine branded range.

Haha wow! Coles seem to be going crazy with the cut-downs of their kitchen range! I actually got the pyrex jug featured here for $1.89 the other day (it was the lucky last one) - the inner bargain hunter in me was jumping for joy!! :D :D
