      • I thought the last part was fairly relevant:

        1. CONSENT

You consent to Golden Glow using and disclosing your personal information for the purpose of contacting you, including but not limited to by telephone, email, SMS and MMS, for the purpose of offering you products and services or for other marketing purposes. • Great deal. Thanks

  • thanks. got myself a 12174 ;)

  • thanks, ordered a 13929

  • Time will tell if they actually ship stuff if you aren't even paying for the shipping, considering what happened the last times this was tried (Wishlist comes to mind).

    Hope it works though!

  • ordered a 13929

    • How do you know it's $25 credit?

      • I want in

  • says so in the catalogue, on the last page.

  • anybody tried multiple orders?

    • You mean all the numbers above?
How does someone find out goods under certain value easily?

    • Yeah, with 2 different emails. Haven't received any emails from them yet.

Edit: Just got the same email as the others - order will be cancelled.

  • Thanks just ordered 13887

  • bah, looks like I just missed out - it said code has expired when I tried to use it :(

  • Ooops..voucher expired.~ Oh well~

  • expired

  • voucher expired!

  • Was still working at 9:52 AEDST, thanks! I found the easiest way to look for items under $6.50, was to just download the PDF catalogue and skim.

  • They've probably picked up on their mistake.

  • Let us know if the orders go through .

  • +1

order did not go through, code also has been taken off.

  • Takes a fair while to select goods, put in the order, and then, at the last moment to get the result: "Our records indicate that the voucher code entered is invalid, please check your voucher code and try again."

    Darn!

  • "Hi,

Please quote your Golden Glow Customer number so we can confirm you were sent our Flyer with the Code: S-PCRD8. If you were not sent this flyer and are new to Golden Glow you are not eligible to use this code and to receive the $10 voucher, so in turn your order will be cancelled."

    • I got the same email. Oh well you can only try!

  • Hi chopz thats what i got in my email. Does anyone know what the golden glow customer number is. What about you forrest. probably you know

    • I got that reply too. I actually am a member (have ordered previously) and I have no idea where I can find my customer number!

  • email from Golden glow….

"Please quote your Golden Glow Customer number so we can confirm you were sent our Flyer with the Code: S-PCRD8. If you were not sent this flyer and are new to Golden Glow you are not eligible to use this code and to receive the $10 voucher, so in turn your order will be cancelled."

  • +1

Coupon does not work. I recieved the same email.

  • only for customers who received the flier. order cancelled.

  • Thanks for trying Forrest.

  • Yup, will work for the original member who got the flyers but not for the rest of us.

  • I haven't gotten the email, yet i am not an original customer?

  • yeah same here, maybe if you got in early enough they'd have processed it before they realised what was going on?

    • Possibly, as i did respond quite quickly to this deal after it was posted.

  • i purchased something using the code and so did my boyfriend. He got the email but i havent as yet and i made my order before his, do you think mine might have gone through? or is it just a matter of time until i receive one too?

  • I received an email which included the following:

"The offer you viewed was posted on an forum internet site by a third party which we are now legally dealing with this issue. The offer was not for the general public and was ONLY sent in the form of a addressed card to a selected group of GOLDEN GLOW customers. On this card was the Terms and conditions for its use. It was for the addressee only to be used only once."

Also, please be advised that some of you who may have received email correspondence from Golden Glow may also have been provided with the personal information of others. Some of YOUR personal information may have been passed on to others.

You should refer to this from the Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner: Own Motion Investigation v Direct Marketer [2008] PrivCmrA 23 http://www.privacy.gov.au/act/casenotes/ccn23_2008.html

  • Hi,

Please quote your Golden Glow Customer number so we can confirm you were sent our Flyer with the Code: S-PCRD8.

The terms and conditions for this offer are stated on the flyer you would have had mailed to you. If you did not receive this offer through the flyer we sent out, you would not be eligible for this offer. Your order has been cancelled.

    • Could someone please scan and post a copy of the leaflet so that we can all review the terms and conditions?

  • Order cancelled as well… not happy

  • I note that cancellations are being sent from [email protected]

"Sanofi-aventis, a leading global pharmaceutical company, contributes to improving life by providing a broad offering of medicines, vaccines, and integrated healthcare solutions adapted to local needs and means…

In 2007, sanofi-aventis totaled 28 billion of euros including 25,3 billion of euros in pharmaceutical business and 2,8 billion of euros in vaccines business."

It would be appreciated if someone could make available a copy of the offer.

  • i received my order today (i ordered before i posted the deal). i'm a new customer and found out about the offer from buckscoop. maybe they decided to expire the voucher and ask for customer id's because of the large number of new customers that found out about the voucher from here…oh well, hope other ppl got their orders too…otherwise it doesn't really make sense to share good deals in here :).

  • I did not recieve my order, however I did recieve a thick 'Golden Glow Summer 2008' Catalogue in the mail today. Did anybody else get this garbage?

  • the threat of legal action someone mentioned makes me think we should add a disclaimer to the end of all posts, i.e. this one from Buckscoop which appears at the end of every offer: "The display of this information does not entail that it has been released for general public use. Please ensure you are eligible to use this voucher code under the merchant's terms and conditions. Buckscoop is not held responsible for the misuse of this information or the accuracy of the details as presented."

  • I'm no legal expert – just some of my thoughts. The case they quoted is not exactly supportive of their cause. To follow the precedent NPP 2.1 and NPP 4.1 are probably violated, Golden Glow should probably retrain their staff / reprogram their system to prevent a similar incident in the future. A sincere apology is probably more appropriate than an intimating letter with mentions of legal dealings and precedents.

Disclaimer on OzBargain would probably be good for OzBargain's cause. As far as Golden Glow is concerned, blaming their customers and third parties for not reading the fine print for their breach of NPP is a bit unreasonable. Not exactly "reasonable steps to protect the personal information" if it's given out willy-nilly on presentation of a discount code.

To me Golden Glow is almost boasting that they have breached NPP as retaliation to members of the general public who used a privileged discount code and to discourage further follow-ups on why the orders are not fulfilled. I certainly hope this is not the case.

Edit: Well picked joequimby and em, good on your for reading the T&C

  • Just a small update on this:

    • I had lodged a complaint with the Federal Privacy Commissioner about this
    • I have received a response, main points:

“section 36 specifies that a complaint lodged with this Office must be made by the individual to whom the personal information belongs”

“the information involved in your complaint belongs to another individual, only that person or their representative can complain about a breach of their privacy”

“The Commissioner does however have the authority under section 40(2) of the Act to conduct an ‘own motion investigation’ where she believes it is appropriate to do so. An own motion investigation is conducted where the Commissioner believes it is desirable to investigate a practice that may be an interference with a person’s privacy.”

I would encourage the person whose details were sent out in that email by Golden Glow to lodge a complaint with the Federal Privacy Commissioner.
