    I wouldn't like to depend on a 39c compass…
    Guaranteed to point nerth!

    • Same goes for a $2.99 compass :p

I don't like depending on a Mobile Phone to point north. Even after 5 mins of figure eights in the air results are mixed. Give me a good ole magnetized piece of iron anyday.

It shouldn't be too expensive to make a compass. I'm amazed how these companies sent things cheaper than AusPost letters though. I'll get one as my Alcatel phone's digital compass never points me in the right direction.

  • Strange how, at only 39 cents, this one doesn't seem to be stirring the passions of the ozbargain community.

I must admit, it is a bit underwhelming for me too.

    • Yeah, I think we were all 'Meritlined' last year which is why I haven't bothered with anything else for many months and until now. I can't fit any more cheap Meritline stuff in my Workshop however I do have space for one of these in my car glovebox. A cheap compass is always handy to have around.

this or a packet of mie goreng?

  • Cant find where to put in the code >.<

Found it. You have to edit your cart and not go straight to checkout

  • ah! I wonder if you will get lost with this one? :P

  • Ordered one thanks OP. Site accepts paypal but will only discount 1 compass. So if you order 2 you pay normal price for the second one.

      You can buy twice…

  • nice deal. Haven't visited meritline for many months now - got sick of all the stuff that wouldn't ship here.
Great for a kid, but most smartphones have a magnetometer app that does the same for free.

The smartphone thingo only works when you in range of multiple transmitting towers. Its not very accurate in the bush

      • Exactly the reason I bought a proper $50 compass a few years back… but that one isn't going to rattle around in my toolbox or glovebox and get all scratched up :)

      • Wait, what??? How do you think a magnetometer in a mobile phone actually works?!

  • Nice. Glovebox material as others have suggested. Possibly fun/educational for kids too.
If nothing else, it doesn't go flat like a phone can, so if truely up **** creek, could be useful (certainly more so than Apple's map app! ;)

    • I was just thinking about this. There have been places in the world I've had to pay 3 times this amount just to pee!

  • Won't let me apply the coupon :(

    • me too. Expired.
