Protect-A-Bed Elite Queen Mattress Protector $87.95 Plus Shipping (RRP $139.95)

30

This is a fancy Tencel (clean and cool) waterproof mattress protector which everywhere else I looked was the normal $140. Adairs have a $9.95 'Linen Club' that gives further discounts and free shipping. Free shipping for orders over $150. Also get a $10 off voucher for signing up for their newsletter (applied for this deal). Yes it's a lot for a mattress protector, but if you want this type, it's a bargain. Worth looking through their specials page too.

This could be quite handy in my quest to earn a free cot from Ikea.

  • I can buy a good quilt at that price. :)

  • i got a waterproof mattress protector from adairs before for full price and im thinking its probably the same one. they are useless, they have plastic on the underside and material on the top so that absorbs liquid and you have to take it off and wash it anyway so its annoying and the sides (fitted) are thin nettings - any liquid leaks staight through, the elastic doesnt stay firm for long so it slides and only protects half your bed.

kmart have the exact same ones for $20 - $30 go get a few of them because you need more than 1. its hard to get these in queen but the best ones are the total plastic, it lets the sheets absorb the wet and then you just wipe the plastic with disinfectant rather than having another blanket to wash

    • They do have another home brand range so maybe you got that? This one is everywhere and people reveiw it quite well (though maybe that's before they've used it for a while).

      • i dont think so because they only had one at the time and that was only a couple months ago, i paid about $140 for it, and also not everyone that buys them is buying them for daily waterproof protection so reviews where they put it on and dont take it off are going to vary.

        • I got it. It's just like a thin white cotton sheet. The sides are the same material. It has strecth like stretch jeans and the underside has a rubbery feeling coating (but not thick).

  • We had one of these on our mattress a while back and it made the bed far too hot. Threw it out.

    • Sod. I'm getting it partly to cool the bed! You and kwaker have got me worried now.

i've never had heat issues and as previously posted they're considered the best :)

you could always return it for a refund if you don't like it :)
