    In respect of the "international warranty", I don't think Olympus Australia services grey imports, they are not part of the international warranty program.

    Hi JetLi,

    Honestly if Olympus Australia refuse your international warranty. Pls ask for a reason in paper. Why:

    Refuse to honour the International Warranty is against Free Trade. And why Olympus sells them to the middleman at the first place with International Warranty?

    1. Price Fixing is illegal and does not benefits any Australian Consumers. Example. Selling the item in Australia at a higher price and selling it in Japan or else where at a lower price. Giving faults impressing of an international warranty of cannot claims.

    2. If I am the buyer, I will bring this up the the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. Please refer here - http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/142

      I understand what you are saying, but in all honesty, Olympus Australia have stated their position on this, whether it's legally right or wrong, I don't think it's worthwhile picking a fight with Olympus Australia over a $189 compact camera unless you enjoy banging your head against a brick wall.

    I am not trying to pick a fight with Olympus Australia. But we are retailers for Olympus want some truth to this matter that they are selling us International Warranty products that cannot be void in Australia alone. The rest of the world is honouring any warranty claims. This is why anyone who has this problem should ask ACCC to look into their actions.
