  • This would be great for a practical joke but it is not realistic looking enough

    • Sit it in your mouth and it does. Really freaks people out

This is the best bargain ever posted…TY

  • why do they need solar energy if they can't walk? (just for the vibration?)

    • thanks for the comment, I thought it moves…

      • the vibration should cause them to 'move' on a flat surface. thats what ive seen out in the markets of asia

      • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBDcPLBjX34 it seems they don't move even when placed on a flat surface :( Good price but since they can't move i'd prefer a more realistic cockroach without the solar/vibrating part

        • Well they look to if given enough light.

I think the intention was that they would vibrate enough to scatter across a hard surface but from the reviews it seems this will only happen if you put them close to the surface of the sun ;)

Thanks OP. This will be a nice surprise when it arrives in 2-3 months after I have forgotten I ordered it!

  • Haha, look at the frequently bought with this item: solar powered spider and mini tripod.

  • I bought this last year as a stocking filler for my 9 year old nephew. he loved it.

I bought one of these about 8 months ago, and he's still running out in the garden, every sunny day.

The legs have rusted off the poor b@st@rd (he's been left out in storms, rain, etc), but he still rumbles tirelessly when the sun is out.

Top notch build quality, rust issues aside.

    9.5/10 Would buy again A+++++++++++

Haha I have more than enough live cockroaches at home for the toy one!

    • Thanks for the perspective, pretty silly really

  • they need to make a remote controlled cockroach ftw

I've got one bought of dx years ago. Definitely 99c worth of entertainment in one of these. Sits on the kitchen window sill, buzzes around OK until someone gets sick of the noise and turns him over.

A great invention. I'm so sick of putting batteries in cockroaches…. :-(

    • i prefer the wind up ones.
