Verb Font Family with 18 Fonts $9 (Normally $270)

100

Mighty Deals currently have the (pretty spiffy) "Verb" font family at a massive 96% off the normal price. You get 18 fonts in the family, the link has plenty of examples and all the details.

It's a pretty good deal if you're a graphic designer and like to keep your font libraries above board.

Graphic Design professionals and studios pay for fonts.

Sure, they're supplemented with some of the excellent free fonts available, but you might be surprised just how expensive it can be to licence good quality fonts.

If something doesn't appeal to you, why bother commenting?

If it is a bad deal no one will vote for it and it will disappear quickly.

If it is a good deal that people have use for, it will gather votes.

Or if you are genuinely interested, just ask what the purpose of the deal is without using multiple question marks implying that it's pointless.

The same could be said for movies, music, books, etc. Just because you can download them for free doesn't make it legal.

… and one would get this because there aren't enough free fonts delivered with OS/application?

There's only so much fun one can have with Comic Sans

Yeah, and why do mechanics buy all those tools? Surely they could just use a screwdriver…

  • I'd like to get rid of some of the fonts from my startup folder.

Some stupid piece of software keeps putting them back. I think it's a corporate startup routine for adobe compatibility or something.

  • So the 18 fonts they claim are simply 9 weight variations of bold and italics, all of which are of the font 'Verb'? I'm no fontarian, but it doesn't seem to offer value when the single $15 font is bundled together 18 times with slight variations to make up a package of $270, that no one would purchase altogether anyway.

    Seems misleading.

    • not sure if it is a deal or not (I don't usually buy fonts) but I'll be damned if I believe the $270 RRP…

Buying professional typefaces can be an expensive business. Yes, you often do have to buy each individual font (italic, bold, bolder, etc) separately and the $$ add up. Just because you're not familiar with that doesn't mean there's anything unbelievable or misleading about it.

    • A font is a variation of a typeface. So there's nothing funny going on. You're paying $9 for the Verb font family.

    • +1

The overall design is called a "typeface". Each variation is called a "font". Technically each different size is a different font too, but on the computer you get virtually unlimited sizes for the price of one :)

can these fonts be used for adjectives or just verbs?

  • Nice find. It's a good font family. I like it. This deal has been extended.
