The Velbon GEO E 430 Tripod Legs are made of a carbon fibre/basalt composite material, providing strong legs yet very light. The tripod has a maximum height of 135cm and a minimum height of 12cm, and when folded is only 46cm long, with a weight of 1kg. This tripod has a 1/4" head screw.

          Yes hopefully the price can come down to around those by other Australian resellers. Also, this doesn't have the lifetime warranty ?

    Very good deal for Lowepro Flipside 400.
    Price for Velbon GEO E 430 Tripod is quite good as well. I do not know this brand so read reviews and check specs before buying it. The weight itself is definitely the strongest point, but I do not know how stable it is and height can be a bit lowish (~135cm).

    Manfrotto tripods … you can get them at pretty much the same price from bhphoto.

        Silk Road by Giottos have carbon fibre legs and the bolts to lock the legs in place do have lock nuts to keep them steady, if that helps

    Your site lists a maximum load of 5kg, but almost anywhere else this tripod is listed says 2.5kg. Whats's the deal on that?

      Depending on the tripod, there is a 'recommended load' and a 'maximum load'. We list the maximum load.
